Chris Wilson
I see slight progress is being made in Syria with the Government taking control of Homs, albeit with some capitulation in the way of a ceasefire.

imi
Will be hard to disagree with this - military action in Syria = ineffective when the problems are much closer to home. http://www.lbc.co.uk/mp-600-800-uk-jihadis-have-returned-from-syria--121263

Al Massey
Surprise surprise http://edition.cnn.com/2015/12/08/politics/amnesty-international-isis-weapons-u-s-/index.html It actually says in that article, and the supporting article where they got those weapons from. Iraqi Army. And old soviet weapons from an age ago. Something we all knew and discussed a long time ago.

Chris Wilson
When in certain areas the British police and military are told not to wear their uniforms to and from work in fear of provoking attack it gives Donald's much ridiculed comment that there are areas in the UK the police fear to enter some gravitas.... That is undeniable. In fact the papers this morning are quoting serving and ex serving UK police officers, one at least giving his real name and senior rank, showing agreement with his statement. If the UK spent as much time and effort banning potential terrorist movements as some colourful, possibly soon to be USA President from entering the UK they would be better served, IMO. Are we banning Arab leaders and commentators entering the UK who voice support of their country's refusal of entry to Israeli passport holders? imi
Despite how vile trumps comments may be he is entitled to his opinion - perhaps in a way we should allow him In the UK / if not then why don't we deal similarly with all these hate mongers and preachers On another note - why was fury stripped of his IBF title? Surely it can't be related to his bigoted views / it's a boxing title not a personality award?

It's perfectly fine for the British public to sign a petition to ban a white Christian, but as soon as a white Christian says anything about Muslims they go nuts. I do agree though, both should be dealt with equally but I can see why the petition has come about for trump because of his current position. Al Massey
That's nonsense. I don't think it is. It makes perfect sense in an overly PC country where people are too worried about offending someone. I will admit the guys an idiot, but he poses no threat. Radicalised hate preachers on the other hand are an actual threat to everyone in this country. But people are too scared to say anything. Imi has been banging on about sorting out the radicalised idiots in this country and he is spot on. It's about time the general public started worrying about that instead of some idiot in America. Kendo11
I can see why he is getting more attention than your average hate preacher though, he is trying to get elected as the President of the most powerful country on earth aftter all. But yeah, it would be nice to see another 100,000 plus signed petition asking for ALL hate preachers (regardless of race, religion etc) to be vented out of an airlock in space. Yeah in America he has the media. The U.K. Is mainly social media which caused our media to make a deal of it because of the signatures. Yet our social media is full of posts and videos of the hate preachers and has been for many years. A hell of a lot longer than trump has been a highlight in the media. Any and all hate preachers terrorist wannabes should be kicked out regardless of a petition. It's about time we made Britain safe for everybody to enjoy. imi
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153081615937581 Look at these cartoons - should be a special place for dealing with them. These are the people that give everyone a bad name. They are the enemy within and it's very sad that our govts keep ignoring the real threat. Chris Wilson
Actually this alternative UK Government petition is seeing very strong support, but funnily enough the BBC don't seem to have mentioned a word about it, unlike every news bulletin and Liberally hosted chat show mawing over the ban Trump petition http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/images/smilies/xmas/smile.gif Given the man has a very realistic chance of becoming the next US president it would be ludicrous to ban him from the UK, hasty, and churlish and diplomatically potentially disastrous, should you feel he's said or done anything worthy of a travel ban. Hell, the son of a Rochdale councillor has been brought back from Syria after attempting to join IS fighters and is roaming the streets of his northern home town, free as a bird. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/107516 It has nearly 450,000 signatures as of a moment ago: Stop all immigration and close the UK borders until ISIS is defeated is the title. On BBC's Question Time it was mooted that 25% of the UK population are in support of Donald Trump's ban immigration stance, but I fail to see how this figure could be researched in such a short time, maybe they were using the above poll? Given it is to show support for banning *ALL* immigration temporarily, it does also encompass banning all *MUSLIM* immigration. Had Trump had the sense to word his speech as to ban *ALL* immigration it would have been less controversial, yet if followed up would have the same effect. Best regards, Chris Wilson. I saw this all over my facebook, until i pointed out closing borders would mean they couldnt go on holiday, and or shipments of ps4s would stop coming in. People are mostly to angry or dumb to work out what shutting borders means and the affect it has. Stopping immigration is totally different so lumping to together was never going to work. Al Massey
When people say close borders they don't mean lock every border up and have a full ban on everything entering or exiting the country. They mean close the borders to immigration. Which is actually a fair observation from certain points
formatzero
No wonder Trump has made so much cash,he is a publicity machine, like him or hate him he now has the attention of most of the world.A gift to the media who will be waiting eagerly for his next controversial statement !
