j_jza80
Sadly it sounds like it's happened again http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-34814203 Thoughts to those involved, and the families of the victims
Kendo11
35 killed at current count. 100 injured. Members of French press also targeted. Bombs found at Stade De France.
Kendo11
First witnesses saying the gunmen were shouting about Syria. Rip all so far, hopefully no more

Al Massey
The question is, how long has this plan, people and arms been in waiting. This isn't a quick retaliation to jihadi John, this has been planned down the finest detail and was going to happen regardless.
j_jza80
Is there any information on who's behind it yet? All I've heard on the news is apparently someone overheard one of the attackers shouting something about Syria? The French are of course bombing Syria at the moment. Kendo11
Shouting about Syria, shouting Alahu Akbar, and ISIS supporters/members using the hashtag "Paris in flames". All pointing that way so far. Attacks also now allegedly happening near the Louvre. As Al said this is definitely something planned for a while and probably not retaliation. Kendo11
State of emergency declared, borders closed, military on the way. This is not over yet. Hostages being "slaughtered one by one".
Havard
Things like this make me sick. People with heavily armed attacking people who can't even defend themselves. Cowards...!! RIP to the victims. H.
drift_bear
Absolute shocked by this! Hopefully our French members are fine and not part of the madness and chaos
Kendo11
Several explosions and gunfire happening now at the concert hall. Ongoing, when the media are struggling to keep up you know it's a very complex situation. Thoughts go out to everyone over there.
Kendo11
Some hostages being rescued thankfully. No numbers out yet as police have asked for updates to stop while operation goes on. "the caliphate state strikes France" now also being hashtagged as well as "Paris in flames" so getting more and more obvious who's responsible. ashloys
A couple of my friends were just home from Paris a few hours ago, madness...
Kendo11
Worried about the news that'll be coming from the concert hall in the next few moments. "carnage" a police officer has been quoted as saying

cered
horrible news All is not lost though, the ISIS resistance in the middle East is going very well. Today a pretty big town (Not much smaller than Newport in Wales for example) was liberated from ISIS. And today a few thousand Iraqis got to go home and resume their lives. Hope this brings a bit of 'light' to this dark day.

Hope this brings a bit of 'light' to this dark day. Indeed, the best thing about that situation is that 3 or 4 groups with different political beliefs all worked together to liberate it. Very key supply line for ISIS also. Re Bataclan, Canal+ now suggesting it's at least 118.
Frank Bullitt
ISIS vowed to "Fill The Streets Of Paris With Dead Bodies" back in July this year. Thoughts go out to the families and RIP to the victims
imi
What an absolute disaster.... Thoughts with the families effected. it does amaze me at how the people in power continue to focus on the symptoms (e.g: ISIS) and never the source of the actual issues, until that line of thinking is changed there is zero chance of this being resolved. Hypocrisy is rife....
Scooter
So what has caused ISIS to come about? Whatever they are fighting for it's like the IRA or even the French resistance etc when faced with an enemy of far superior numbers and/or weaponry ie these days with drones that can pick you off from miles away, you are not going to fight your cause (just or unjust) in a convention war type way. Noz
Have to say, I'm glad I moved back to the UK recently from living in central Paris for most of the year. There is a heavy immigration presence there. I've friends who were in the area that I checked in with this morning. There would of been a lot of students there in that area sadly.
