Marcus GTE
Hi everyone, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the planing for next years Applecross trip is now underway! 2016's event will build on two previous successful years that we have enjoyed, where the trip has grown in both size and numbers. This is going from strength to strength for the simple reason that the roads on the route are completely jaw dropping. It's not unusual for people to be still buzzing for weeks after this. It's a pretty spiritual experience at times in the Highlands with its Scale and beauty. We are in the early stages of planing at the moment but I am able to give some basic details. Next years trip will again be 3 days, Friday-Sunday. The 26th-28th of August. Like last year there will be a cap on numbers of cars and it will again be ticketed. (pricing to follow at a later date) There will be a maximum of 15 cars permitted. (guest tickets will be available too) There will be no camping next year, and instead we will be based for 2 nights at the Skyewalker Hostel in Skye. SPG, myself and Gordy.r will be organising this trip and we have our work cut out to top Applecross 15, but we are committed to doing so Members are encouraged to declare interest early and get their name down to reserve a place. More information to follow at a later date. Last years thread : http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?322290-Applecross-Invasion-2015-(21-08-23-08)-loading-99&highlight=Applecross 1. gordy.r
The AquaXplore boat trip sets off from Elgol, on the south west corner of Skye, in the beutiful setting of the dramatic black Cullen mountains. This area was popular recently with where Bear Grills took Ben Stiller on his show and also where Danny Mcaskill made his famous "Ridge video"; in fact you would be setting foot on the same boat that the previously mentioned people used to get dropped off on http://youtu.be/xQ_IQS3VKjAhttp://youtu.be/qrHGP_uKnGE I and others counted this trip as one of the highlights of the trip last year so I would highly recommend it Edited February 15, 2016 by Marcus GTE (see edit history)

Marcus GTE
Great response guys! Filling up fast! Spunkmire I think last year tickets were £90 not including food and fuel. I'd guess this time it'll be more like £130ish (for all inclusive type ticket) as we aren't camping next year and it was cheaper than the hostel.
