Nope, my days of working with the old bill are the main reason for choosing the vest as i prefer it to a belt and holsters.

Not one for the stolen valour or playing soldiers look, unless i was serving, then i would use my work gear lol

Agreed, I have an MTP Osprey plate carrier & an old DPM assault vest - all issued but I wouldn't wear them for fear of looking like a dildo. I think If I get into it more I'll get some leg stuff (I'm the opposite on this one, I like my body clear - particularly if I'm going to be lying down or moving quickly). So holster for a backup pistol - I like the look of the KJW gas G23 - Then for my other leg a double mag pouch for my G39c. airsoft-casual, how I roll...

i was going to do some airsoft but non of my friends wanted too and with needing to save some dosh for the car at the moment i knocked it on the head, but looks like serious fun if its anything like paint balling :p

Hoping its gonna be better, i much prefer the realism of the weapons in comparison...

My pal showed me a suppressor he has, it makes the bb's glow as they pass through it, so in the dark you have tracer rounds, i did geek out a little lol

Just got back from a game today. Let down by a few mates so I went on my todd. Everyone there just chatted between themselves (myself included) as if everyone was there as one big group, really nice atmosphere.

Hopefully my nearest spot has the same atmosphere :)

Had my suppressor come today, looks ace imo

Is there any airsoft places in Yorkshire?

http://www.airsoftmap.net/Skirmish/

It's not got every site on it, I've found some real gems locally that aren't listed - but worth a look :)

That a G39c GBB?

G36 AEG, not quite so fancy - I'm still relatively new to it :)

Besides, you could fold the stock? :)

I may ask one of the guys at my next game if I can pop one of their suppressors on mine, see how it looks :D

Dont forget you can get some of these little beauties to play with too. :eyebrows:

The mk9 thunderflashes are amazing and oh my god for an airsoft grenade are bloody loud. Alot of sites only let you use up to an mk5. Google some vids for the MK9's they are pretty serious esp at £9.50 a pop.

  • 2 weeks later...

So last Sunday i was in Reading, for those of you that do it often (or not) may have heard of "The Mall"

Basically and old Shopping Centre that is now being used for Airsoft events etc.

It. Was. Awesome!!!

Although i had a few hicups, it was a blast.

The suppressor on my MP5 fell off after the first match, for no reason at all other than the front of the gun not being glued together sufficiently, so i need to fix that.

Then the strap that allows me to hang the MP5 off myself came loose when i was switching to my sidearm (Resulting in the MP5 hitting the ground and smashing the stock)

It came off completely when the front strap point nut came out, allowing the Strap pin to come off the gun completely (I managed to catch it this time)

Even after all of that, the gun still works and is repairable, I had an absolute blast, got shot to crap and got a few kills in too.

It was exhausting but well worth the trip. Highly reccomended, and i have the bug now for sure!

Sites vary, some require you to have a full mask, others say goggles are the minimum but your own risk (Has been know to break teeth when hit in the face etc)

I didnt take too much;

Pistol + 2 mags & Gas

Lots of Ammo for both guns, especially if trigger happy (6mm BB's)

MP5 + 2mags

3x Batteries for the MP5 (only used 2x)

Torch

Goggles

Face mask

Gloves (Not needed but it hurts without and i got shot in the hand a lot)

Tactical Vest

Food and Drink

Also woth taking boots and cash.

There were Pyrotechnics to use if needed. I regret not buying any as they were very effective at clearing rooms.

I've been to a few (smaller than 50v50) games with just one AEG and about 4000 BBs and a single battery - was enough to get me through the entire day, although it was mostly long range semi automatic firing for the day. Equipment-wise, pretty much the above, though I'd call gloves an essential - had a fingernail almost shot off once (had to pull it off the rest of the way as it was hanging) so it's not particularly nice :D

Also some decent footwear. I was running around in the forest last time with a set of old walking shoes and did a number on my ankle, so I might try and get something a bit more supportive next time :)

Got myself a G17 GBB glock for next time though, should be fun! :D

Looks fun

How does this compare to paintball, if you get hit I guess it leaves no mark, do you just carry on or have to sit it out if your honest?

You head back to your 'respawn' point unless the game mode says otherwise. It can and does leave marks if you're shot at close range, I've still got marks from weeks ago :p

The bbs don't leave a mark on your clothes if that's what you mean. It's all honour based and sometimes people cheat. Also sometimes it looks like you should have hit the other player, when in reality the bb fell out of the air and rolled to the floor near them. That probably causes more arguments than people cheating...
