Funnily enough me and two of my friends were discussing starting up, going to be buying:

- WE G39c (G36c) GBB Rifle

- KJW G23 GBB Pistol

Currently have a few airguns - Sig Sauer P226 X-Five .177 which is brilliant fun, major nostalgia form it and a Remington 1200 Vantage .177, packs a punch, reliable as you can get and sleek

I did this quite a bit a few years back before the Violent Crime Reduction Act came in and made the whole realistic imitation firearms scene a real ball ache.

I use to go to events run by Combat South. I have a gas action T109 Tac Master and a Tokyo Marui P90. It has uprated springs and gears.

I used to enjoy it. But ultimately I found many people cheated and the unlimited ammo thing destroyed any sense of realism.

I went to a couple of events a few years ago and it was an absolute blast. Running and crawling around in the mud and snow, I had a great time. I used the club gear because I wasn't into it enough to buy my own guns, they had some kind of spetsnaz AK47s for the casuals to borrow. Nice heavy metallic gun.

The downsides I think will be the throbbers with £500+ electric guns with magazines that can take 500,000,000 BBs and the borderline Walt people dressed in head-to-toe eBay Multicam and taking it way too seriously.

But the opportunity to shoot these people while giggling my posterior off appeals hugely

It's something I've wanted to do for a while. Planned it a few years ago for a stag do but ended up going down the usual paintball route. Definitely want to give it a go at some point.

Made me chuckle lots

I know a few throbber squaddies who do it.

We're absolutely useless on tour but they're air soft heroes lol

I used to be into it massively. But haven't been now for around 4 years mainly due to the fact that there is no where near to me that is decent with mixed terrain is bit of open land woodlands buildings etc... I would love to get back into it though. I used to play before all this ukara boll@€$ came out. So if I were to buy stuff again it would all have to be multicoloured stuff. I'm on my hols atm but when I get back I'll take a pick of all my toys.

From what I can gather, the UKARA thing isn't for UK law, it's just a 'defence' if you get stopped and happen to have a replica firearm in the boot of your car, whilst dressed head to toe in faux military gear. My first game was with a hired gun (which kept jamming) and the few people there with blue guns were pretty easy to spot - so first thing I did was tone mine down a bit! :D

Ahh, makes sense..! Mine isnt brand new, its ex display but wife got the pair for £75 :)

Thinking of the stripping them for some hydro dipping, maybe didital camo or sonething

If you do, let us know how much it costs please? I'm not really mad in to it, but digital camo stuff does look pretty cool. Will post a pic of the current rifle in a bit :D

I know the Mall quite well, not been in a few months but it's a good laugh. Better with fewer people, otherwise it bogs down too quickly. If you've never been to the mall before, bring a torch, it is very dark downstairs. Quite fond of Combat South and Zed Adventures Battle Lakes as well. I think airsoft is good for a laugh with a bunch of mates, certainly not something to be taken seriously. You can literally see the bb's coming towards you and dodge them, no chance of that with real bullets.

Also beware the temptation to buy lots of guns straight away, get one that you like the look of and run it to death. Then upgrade it if you're still playing :D.

RE UKARA:

You can avoid getting a UKARA licence by buying form Pellpax as they deliver using their own vans so the "need for defense" is no longer required. They do take your details and add it to their firearms details though so they know what you have.

You can buy from any shop so long as you're member of a UKAR registered site, but you don't need to be active or a UKARAS holder. For example If I pay the fee to join my local airsoft site I can use their site number when buying airsoft guns and it constitutes a valid defence. They have your details and photos so it's all legal and you have their site as a public liability insurance detail.

UKARA is utter nonsense anyway. I wonder if they realise black paint is a thing... Or maybe I should avoid buying an airsoft gun and buying a replica airgun which doesn't' require any special markings but has the capacity to severely wound someone? :S

I don't think the group is going to be huge, i have heard there may be zombies too...!

Torch will be a must, else i'll be screaming my way through the dark lmao.

I wanted the mp5 anyway, just want a couple of other bits for it now although i could easily build up an arsenal lol

You're mixing up two completely different things - a UKARA license and an FAC license. An FAC license allows you to have an actual firearm (i.e. a .22 rifle) or an air rifle > 12 ft lbs of force. It does not allow you to have a real imitaiton firearm (RIF) - which the UKARA sort of does. At least it lets you purchase one at a shop anyway. You can buy a pre-owned RIF from an airsofter without any troubles, but you cannot buy a .22 rifle from someone and own it without a license.

I think I must've typed my post poorly, I'm aware of the difference

Took delivery of my Tactical vest yesterday, £35 off Amazon, comes with 3x Pistol magazine pouches that also fit my MP5 Mags, plus a holster for my Pistol too.

So long as you don't do this stuff...

For my loadout I think I'll wear a paintball mask, FAST helmet pink fuzzy ear muffs (I dont want to get hit in the lobe'). Jeans, hoodie and decent boots. If it's cold I might wear my old DPM assault vest so I got somewhere to store sweets.
