Need help tracing a wire. Possibly alarm related (Clifford 650)

I took on the mammoth task of swapping over my heater matrix and all the piping. Unfortunately due to the fact that I have a clifford alarm installed, this did not go easily. The dash wouldn't come out as the wiring was all intertwined so I had very little space to see and visibility was horrible. To that end, when I removed the crash bar it took a wire with it that I didn't know was there (followed the guide but there was so much missing). I'm not sure what the wire is for, I don't think it's stock but I could be wrong. To that end I've got the car most of the way back together and it won't start.

I've checked for any codes from the ECU (Syvecs) and there's nothing. The pump is priming no bother so I'm guessing I'm only missing out on a spark. I believe the second circuit on the Clifford 650 is spark so for the moment I'm putting it down to this wire. Can anyone identify it and help me trace where it's meant to go?

First pic is a closeup of the wire/location.

2nd pic shows the wire colour. Black with thick grey stripes

3rd pic shows the general location. Bolted onto the crashbar behind the drivers dash at the instrument cluster.

Got to the root of the car not starting, the switches for controlling the map etc needs to be in or she just won't fire :D

Still no idea where that wire came from though. Alarm seems to be working fine. I guess I'll need to just put the whole thing back together and see if there's anything not working. I'm thinking it's going to be stereo related or something like that now though.

That is not a wire from the Clifford - The trace dots and the silver crimped earth terminal suggest otherwise. (I am a Clifford certified installer). A Clifford would be all black with no trace and most likely have a coloured crimp on the end.

Normally factory earths are White/black on Toyotas, but I have seen black ones before. Is it possible this is from an aftermarket stereo/head unit being fitted given its locaton?

I didn't think it was the clifford, at the time I was kind of just hoping it was to get to the bottom of my non-start lol. I wasn't sure if the Intellistart had the coloured wires or not. Thanks for the input though, at least I can definitely cross it off the list.

I was thinking that it could be for a previous stereo install but as far as I'm aware they have all used the stock loom. The stereo that came with the car definitely did. However, I'm happy that it's definitely down to either a stereo or a-n-other gadget, so with that in mind I'm just going to take it off, re-check all my current installs and call it a day at that.

Thanks for the help :)

BTW, shame you're so far away. Whoever installed my alarm must have been working in the dark. It's horrendous and really needs sorted out by someone who knows what they are doing. I'm going to try and tidy it as much as I can but as there is so much going on with it, it's really difficult (there's fuses absolutely everywhere).

Mate the number of horrific installs I've seen. We always looked to make the install look factory - tie it into the original loom etc so it was hard to find, but because the market was so competitive on JDMs in the mid-2000's the cowboys got the prices down by cutting corners on the installation to lower the time. A cat 1 install was always a full day job for us so it could go in just right.

If you look at the 3rd picture up there, the bunch of cables running along the top are the alarm system. That's the tip of the iceberg too. I don't think having the intellistart in place helped though, it just added another loom of bodge :D
