Orphan Black is a cracker of a series.

Also like as already mentioned, Suits, Homeland, Agents of Shield, TWD, Better call Saul all brilliant.

Series no longer on, Fringe (epic), Breaking Bad is awesome.

Also so on viewing list is Narcos and Mr Robot

Guilty pleasure/cheesy is 2 Broke Girls

They're not, that's a hoax.

Thank goodness for that, I thought it was one of the most over hyped TV series ever. So many dull episodes, I'm amazed it was even commissioned for a second series.

Feel like I'm banging on about it, but seriously Banshee takes some beating. There must be someone else on here who has seen it? I've recommended it to several people and everyone of them loved it and couldn't believe they hadn't heard of it before. Highbrow it is not, but undeniably, thoroughly entertaining start to end of every episode. :D

I watched Banshee, really enjoyed it for the most part. Your opinion is null and void if you rate it over Breaking Bad though. BB is the best TV I have ever seen, hands down. It's not an instant hook, it's a slow burner and just keeps building till the end. Amazing television, so well thought out, written and scripted. Over the head of Banshee lovers though :p

Haha, I'm afraid so. Found BB never really got going, you say it was a slow burner, but I felt it was full of filler episodes to pad out each series. I got the different aspects of symbolism and metaphorical references mirroring the main character. Plane crash, a fly and a pink bunny rabbit come to mind. I get the escapism (IMO) that this is a normal/accessible family and could easily be happening in any similar town. The normal family man turning into a crazed one, consumed with greed so much so that it leads to his eventual downfall. The greater risks and liberties he takes with his friends and family. I was persuaded to watch BB, gave up and was persuaded to keep going. I'd never watch it again put it that way

The mention of it building up is right, they certainly finished every series with a big episode to convince the audience it was a good series but 9 dull episodes where nothing much happens leading up to a budget blowing finale doesn't count as a good series for me.

Anyway I'm sure there are far worse series than BB, but they don't have legions of fans and a cult status of being one of the best ever tv shows.

Maybe I was just over-expectant in what I thought I was about to watch through having heard so many good things about it.

Hood would steam in and "clean up" the town in BB in one episode. :D And only have bandage on his wrist to show any sign of damage the week later no matter how many times he was punched in the face or shot. :p

I see they've re-booted Fargo as well. Will need to give that a watch to see how it fares with the first series.

Any other Walking Dead fans scream internally when they realised this weeks episode was a filler/character builder? :D Tbf it was a good episode and definitely needed, just at the wrong time!!

The first 2 maybe 3 seasons had a lot of filler. After that it was ALL gravy IMO. Season 5 is the best television I have ever viewed in my entire life, no doubt. It was absolutely mesmerising telly. Season 1-3 were reasonable and VERY clever (for the reasons you stated), the show really came on in season 4 and blew everything away in season 5.

However, to counter, every episode in Banshee is the same. There is VERY little change in the formula for each episode. The exception for me was the episode(s) where they went after the Dad through the Church etc. That was just brilliant telly. I DO really like the characters though.

Oh yah?

Completely deliberate btw, regarding the Walking dead. They're just padding it out to keep people on the edge of their seats over Glen.... for those that haven't already worked it out.

Big fan of Fringe too, brilliant series that reminded me a bit of the X Files

I'm about to watch season 2 of Penny Dreadful, season 1 was one of the best shows I've seen - classic horror stories (vampires/frankenstein/exorcism/dorrian grey etc etc) set in a dark Victorian London. Highly recommended!!

The Flash - I think I mentioned that I was watching this already but I feel an update is required. The first half of the first season was OK. A-typical superhero TV show with day to day tales of heroics etc. I kind of fell away from the show but decided to get back into it. The main plot of the show has just taken some HUGE leaps and I can hardly turn it off now. Really jumped up in my estimation so if you're watching it, or if it's your thing, definitely stick with it as it gets really good :)

Elementary season 4 is excellent, thoroughly enjoying it.

Supergirl has gone down hill, mediocre at best but I'm still watching it.

Started watching Sherlock with the Wife, just finished off the 3 seasons, looking forward to the 4th eventually coming out.

Limitless has started to pick up a bit recently, getting more depth to it now.

Making a murderer is the highlight for me just now, really gripping documentary about a guy being shafted by the justice system.

Just watched the complete series of Still Game. Was great to watch them again, hilarious. Got them all on youtube.

Started watching Prison Break again.

We watch Still Game every year on the lead up to Christmas (not sure why), it's amazing.

Prison Break..... hmm, 1st 2 seasons were pretty good (1st especially).

I've been watching the new X-Files and I'm caught in 2 minds with it. This weeks episode was just plain weird and more comedy than anything. The first 2 episodes knocks everything on it's head and then just kinda get on with it as if nothing particularly big happened. I guess that's what was needed to light the fire again but it's a little nonchalant the way it's been done.
