Scott
So following on from the mini-movie review thread I thought I'd start a telly one, afterall we probably watch everything on the TV collectively so nice to know what's good and what's not. I'm currently watching: Arrow - You need to be into this kind of show to enjoy it. I take it for what it is and find it really entertaining. There's some smoke(ing) hot babes in it, loads of action and the odd small surprise. Oliver Queen comes back to the world after being trapped on an island for years. He comes back a honed warrior and feels it's time to clean up his city as the Green Arrow. It's as cheesy as you would expect but its' got a decent budget. In the later seasons it runs alongside the Flash with the odd crossover episode. 6/10 in general, 8/10 for the genre. Elementary - A Sherlock Holmes spinoff that's surprisingly good. It has it's faults but overall it's really enjoyable. Few twists in the tail with Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) instead of John Watson. It's set in this timeline and he is a PROPER drug addict. 7/10 in general, 9/10 for the genre. Limitless - TV show off the back of the movie, although a bit down the line. The first episode of this was amazing for me, it's gotten a little soft as the series has gone on though.... I guess it had to for TV though. Follows a young guy who ends up taking NZT in order to work for the FBI. He's immune to the drug but all is not as it seems. I've not really got a rating in my head for this one, for me the first episode was 10/10 but it's been followed up by a lot of 7/10. Sherlock - Similar to Elementary in that it's a Sherlock spin off but this one is in a different league altogether. This is one of the best series I have ever watched, the characters and the acting in it are just sublime. Don't be put off thinking of this as just another Sherlock franchise. 10/10 across the board for me, it's brilliant. Supergirl - This just started. Just like Arrow, Smallville, the Flash, etc you need to be a fan of the genre. Not made my mind up on this yet but the "baddy" has a fantastic arse on her so it will definitely warrant more viewing. Literally just started with the pilot screening recently but I'll follow it up when I've made my mind up. Vikings - I'm a fair bit behind with this but it's a really enjoyable show. I'm only halfway through season 2 but I've really enjoyed it. Fairly gritty and intense most of the time with the odd bit of humour. The Vikings are just finding their way on the waters to England. They loot, pillage and make friendly with the local Females. Pretty much what you would expect but a very nice depiction of the genre. 8/10 in general, 10/10 for the genre. I'm watching loads more older stuff too, but that'll do for now. What's good for you?
supra_ufo
Good thread, my descriptions wont be brilliant but here is what I am watching... Walking Dead - On season 6 now, just imagine if people turned into zombies and what people would do to survive. Excellent and entertaining show 9/10 Fear the walking dead - recently piloted its same story as above but focuses more on the initial outbreak, slow starting but looks to be equally as good. Also the nice looking girl from the 100 is in it, so worth watching. 7/10 Homeland - CIA and Terrorists. season 5 now, the first few seasons were brilliant, the latest ones is very slow starting, i am on the 1st episode but the mrs said it gets better 9/10 Gotham - A batman prequel, show about the origins of the well known characters we know today (batman, cat woman, joker, riddler, penguin etc). I have been enjoying the shows, its on season 2 now. 8/10 Heroes reborn - Evoled humans with special abilities. If anyone was a fan of the originals this one is carrying on from that show that ended a few years ago, again its slow starting and has alot of new characters but some of the old ones are coming back 7/10 The 100 - Nuclear war tarnished the air on earth forcing humans to space, they spent 20 years or so in space but struggling for food/oxygen they sent 100 prisoners to earth as a punishment / test to see whether earth was liveable again. I would give this show 8/10 Also watched Vikings like scott, and Game of Thrones, waiting for the new season of GOT and the

Same with flash Also in the works is another DC to series which I think will be the build up to the justice league DC obviously do better with TV then films. Waiting to watch Supergirl. When did Limitless start and what channel? Something I wanted to watch. I also watch the 100, just waiting for the next series. Suits is another huge favourite of mine. About a lawyer firm, one who has photographic memory. Walking dead, haven't been able to watch the prequel yet. Marvel Agents of Shield is great. Love how it links to the films. There's quite a few on my sky box that I watch it's hard to keep up lol

Abz
Great thread. Not really been into the TV drama as in the past they have been kack. Was reignited with watching Breaking Bad last year which was bloody awesome!! Just finished watching Suits Season 5. I love this! I work for the largest law firm in the world and I can confirm things don't happen as quick as they make out

johnny g
We're currently ankle deep in stuff to download, sorry, watch at the moment. Limitless - agree with Scott, is a solid 7/10 but could get better. Decent viewing. The Blacklist - James Spader plays Raymond "Red" Reddington who heads up the CIA and FBI's most wanted list. He surrenders himself to work with the FBI to catch his enemies on his "blacklist". Brilliant casting and Spader is superb, 9/10. Scandal - Olivia Pope is a hard nosed crisis manager who has a long history with the White House and the President. Really good, deep stories and characters in a horrible world of politics. Great programme, 9/10 Arrow - as above Suits - as above

Style
Any feedback on American Horror Story? Heard mixed reviews but wouldn't mind giving it a go if it's going to be worth it! Re-watched Twin Peaks and currently getting some X-Files in for their next seasons
Scott
I've been rattling through the X-Files too. I'm probably bias but other than the dodgy film and slightly questionable budget at times, the show seems timeless.

johnny g
Oh people should also try The Newsroom. It's Aaron Sorkin's best work and Jeff Daniels is superb as news anchor, Will McAvoy.

But still worth watching!
st3ven1
Banshee, superb action series with more action in one episodes than some have in a series. It's made by cinemax in the US which will tell you all you need to know about the other content in it. It's honestly one series where you can't wait for the next episode just to see what happens, proper 18 certificate show so the violence is brutal in places. Can't recommend it highly enough and if you get the chance try it, I promise you won't regret it. The fourth and final series will air next year and I can't wait. I am getting a few people telling me this, so I think I might want the whole of season one then make a decision. Love the fact you wanted a WHOLE season in one sitting Same as you Abz. I tried the first 2 episodes and didn't bother going any further. I stopped waiting 15 mins before episode 2 finished & just got bored, but think I might watch some more. Only watching it because of Kevin Spacey.

Really enjoyed it, starts off a little slow but really gets into it towards the end of the episode. Watched a little preview of tonights episode and it looked very interesting. Will reserve judgement on the scoring for now but it definitely looks promising
