o2/Lambda sensor for VVTI J-Spec Supra - Driving me mental

For about two weeks straight I've been trying to source an OE/Denso Lambda sensor for my VVTI Supra. Toyota have discontinued them and Denso only seem to do the US/UK model double lambda sensors.

Are there any alternatives? Driving me crazy because going by Google the only ones in existence are the ones fitted to VVTI cars -_-

Have you tried http://www.rockauto.com

They do all years & specs but I got two jspec genuine Denso lambdas sent over from the US for £75 & it took less than 3 days to arrive (price included duty, vat & shipping - search for the 5% discount code online which is easy to find, plus choose the more expensive Fedex option for these small parts as it works out cheaper - the other options will mean that Royal Mail will handle it this end & they will shaft you with a £15 handling charge).

I did look earleir but they don't seem to list any Lmabda sensors for mkiv supras. only 3 fire mk3 ones :(

I have my old OEM one if you want, changed it because i thought it was broken and it turned out to be an exhaust gasket leak:taped:. 20+P&P, if you wanted new though i replaced mine with the Denso Oxygen Sensor DOX-0228. Im also VVTI btw.

I did look at the DOX0228 but I thought it was only suitable for the UK Supra, or is it the same fitment & spec?

I bought a VVTi 02 sensor from Whifbitz last month, following on from Toyota telling me they couldn't get them anymore.

Yeah I called Paul but he said he didn't have any (He did check but discontinued by Toyota so no longer available at all I guess)

Under the Rockauto part catalogue use the clickdown menu & select Toyota, Year, Supra, Non-Turbo or Turbo, Emission, Oxygen O2 Sensor & you should have a choice of about 10-15 different makes.

Do you know the oem part number you need or the part number on current sensor?

You're right mate, sorry. Searched everywhere & cannot locate one with that code anywhere, not even a cross-ref for an aftermarket non-oe one! Might need to find one with same no of wires & fitment (easier said than done)

Yeah it's a nightmar,e Denso seem to have two of them... but one for US and one for UK, four wires, same plug, look identical etc so think i'll have to give them a go. dont want to ruin my car with dodgy emissions... that adn £6 to go 10miles aint fun

Works fine on mine, iirc it went through an NCT (Irish MOT) since and it passed fine (low/high and lambda). I can confirm later when i go home if you'd like?

Yeah I did see those but for that Price i'd rather buy a new Denso

Nah it should be ok. Did you notice an improvement in fuel economy after? i think i'll get one of those DOX228 ones

Not that i noticed but tbh my old one was working fine.

Allrighty, must be the exact same part just different part numbers for whatever reason. Will be getting on.

Thanks all for your assistance, I think this thread will be useful for anyone in a similar situation
