outatime
Do a search for 'uk brakes', there is loads of info... As long as you have big enough alloys (or stock 17s) it is a straight swap. Like you say, you will have to cut or bend the backing plate out of the way but that is it. What to expect? Loads more stopping power. What is the benefit of a dump valve? NOISE :flame Dev Get searching, dump valves, induction kits, exhausts and IC's have been done to death... Enjoy your new toy... Terminator
Hi and welcome. I am sure you will find all the info with a search. IMHO it is best to take the backing plates right of, use a good pair of tin snips or a grinder. You must check each disc on all five possible fitting positions with a runout gauge. While you are at it stick in a better fluid. As you have not had the car for long it wont take long to get used to the new stopping power, unlike some of us who were pulling up too soon few a few trips;)
JCresswell
Thanks i forgot about the fluid probaly use DOT 5.1 and i think there is a 6??? fully synthetic isnt there???, i hope there as good as everyone says, i was motoring the other day braked hard from 120 (any police here???? it was KPH honest ) and missed my left turn:p ive only ever gone fast on my bike before, as my last car was an old SAAB, the bikes shod with AP goodies so stopping wasnt a problem, but i have to say i never ever thought the supra TT (jap Spec) was as fast as this, I love it! JCresswell
Thanks Guys, Ive just mailed him, didnt know he was into racing etc...... PS another one for you, I know you said dump valves are nice to have for the noise, any idea what sort i should buy, there seems to quite a few around, i want the tissshhhhhh wizzz noise:p and are they easy to fit or should i leave that to someone like TDI, Thanks Again
Terminator
Blitz or HKS dump valves are the most popular among owners on here. Not difficult to fit. IMHO
outatime
Use the search button, everything you need is there! AFAIK the HKS BOV SSQV is regarded as the best dump valve for up to 18psi. Shouldnt be too hard to fit... I've just pulled the pipe off the stock BOV that recirc's the air into the turbos and blocked up the hole, makes a pretty good noise and cost precisely nothing. Have a look at these threads for dump valve stuff: Which dump valve? BOV and Induction HTH

Need4Speed
JC if you get stuck, I did this last year and photographed it all. First thing to do is check you wheels will fit over the new caliper. Take one J-spec off (leave the pipe connected) and remove the disc. Bolt on the UK caliper and try refitting the wheel. If it clears, you can proceed to dismantle everything, if not you need to sort clearance out before anything else. Fluid; I use AP Racing Fluid available from Demon Tweeks via mail-order. If you want any photos, let me know [email protected]
