markylee
I recently purchased the older version of the whifbits smic from ebay , it was very cheap due to a split weld and a broken bolt, my question is ...would I have to find out what it is made of before I take it to a welder, it is probably aluminium but I am not sure, it only cost me £50 so I thought it was worth a shot, I have no idea how much it will cost to fix though, and if anyone has an idea on how to remove a snapped bolt from it before I totally destroy it:( that would be great , ps here it is.......http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281827197032?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Ric
I'd say aluminium, but makes you wonder, if it was such an easy fix, why didnt the seller get it fixed and sell it for loads more?
Dnk
It should be easy enough to weld going by the photo and not really cost that much if its only split on that one edge, getting the broken bolt out should be easy enough with the correct tools Edited October 25, 2015 by Dnk (see edit history)

Believe me I wondered a lot, especially as it had no bids for a ten day listing, but worth the gamble I thought, worst case scenario would be use it as an oversize cheese grater
markylee
Quote edited. Baldy has offered to do this and he is not too far from me, and will probably have some bodywork done at the same time.
