Tomyspeedy
Since taking my forum virginity several moons ago i've always been wondering something. Why are soo many people against others making new posts for advice? Yes I understand that the question may have already been asked in the past and that it can be searched for, but whats wrong with making a new thread to get some relevant specifics to your question? Do the forums undergo a sterilization by admins looking to clear some old cobwebs?
RobUK
I don't think it's the questions that sparks the seemingly negative reaction but more often because the person hasn't even bothered to look for previous posts etc.... If someone posted I'm having x problem and have read xyz but it doesn't help or what if then that's fine... Also if the original questions are commented upon then it creates a sort of guide to fixing a particular issue rather than someone having to read 3/4/10 different things to try and solve there issue.... That's my thoughts anyway

Al Massey
Exactly as above. Why have a hundred threads with the same title and the majority of them don't have the answer or have the one thread, regardless of how old it is that has all the relevant information? Why spend hours searching and reading through old posts looking for an answer when you can search and within a minute find the answer you need. Tomyspeedy
And so the penny drops. You'd like to think that each time it comes up the question would be answered. I whole heartedly agree though, Atleast a Google search should be carried out before starting a new thread.

I whole heartedly agree though, Atleast a Google search should be carried out before starting a new thread. The problem is the question is answered many times. But not everyone knows the answer to all the questions.
RobUK
Also the members that have the best technical knowledge might miss the new question, whilst a comment on an existing thread will notify them and potentially help the member further.... Nic
The forum has been going for a long time and I doubt there is a Supra related subject that hasn't been asked, debated and answered but I can image for new members it could be difficult to know the right words/phrases or how and where to search to find the answer they are looking for. It personally doesn't bother me when a member asks a question that has been asked before - and I will help if I can - provided the question is well thought through and explains exactly what they want to know. The thing that is annoying are unthought through, badly written questions with vague subject headings that don't include any salient facts or information. eg. 'Help' "the supes makin a ratlin noise wht cud it b"
