i think im getting more excited than dad is lol be nice when its done, just trying to find him a good 6speed is going to be the hardest part now

Yeah that's going to be the hardest bit finding a good condition 6 speed box, if not bought as a hole kit the other parts that go with it are just as hard to find!

So dad has a getrag on the way we think it may be a v161 by the looks of the case and would explain the 43,000 miles on it he has also brought lux luc mint prop shaft as luc brought a new Srd prop and will also be running a ao2b diff until a big case comes along

The block and bits are now prepared and painted now just waiting for the assembly of the engine. I'm still trying to get dad to run ethanol but only time will tell lol, also me and Lee are trying to convince him to stick a 6870 on there lol as that would be awesome lol

Just read the thread from start to finish, looks like this is going to be a very nice example once it's finished. :)

Is the new VVT-i lump from a Supra or an Aristo? Only ask as I recall reading on here that you have to change some bits to make the Aristo lump fit a Supra (sump being one of them).

Nice to see a good build thread involving SRD as I think they are brilliant. May even see your car down there when I get some more bits done on mine.

Keep us posted, looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Cheers,

Pete :)

So after about a year of not really doing much to the car other than enjoying it and cleaning it, locked down kicked in and more parts was placed on order !

Srd’s turbo kit sporting a HKS 60 wastegate

and a precision 6870 gen2

now my plan is not to go bonkers mad power but to have a responsive turbo that wasn’t at its limits and gave room for progression if wanted, I could of gone for the likes of a 6266 ect but I here’s what made me go for the 6870, other than duties with a vvti engine and seeing the boost coming on early in the Rev range but I also am keeping to a stock engine. Now this is just examples but say a

6266 at 1.8 bar making 700bhp

6870 at 1.2 bar making 700bhp

I like the fact that you not

putting as much stress on the turbo or the engine ! This will never be a 1000bhp car and if I can keep the engine stock then I will, I’m also thinking of a cheeky hypertune as well but will probably go that route later in the year!

can’t thank srd enough for always being at the end of the phone and answering my silly questions 🙂

So here is the new spec most of its is already on the car but the car will be going in soon as all the parts are here 🙂
