Chris Wilson
I don't really watch F1 any more, but still like to keep abreast of the technical aspects of it, so I am surprised to see them state total braking energy produced for the whole GP by one car was only 132 kWh. I thought it would be far, far more.
David P
Maximum deceleration of 5.7 G, they must need to squint to prevent their eyes falling out?
Chris Wilson
Cars with lots of downforce are fascinating under the brakes and take some getting used to. At say 140 MPH + you can really nail the brakes and retardation is awesome, as speed drops down through 120 to say 100 MPH you have to be ready to moderate the braking as downforce drops off and the tyres reduce grip. It's very very noticeable on both my Sports Prototypes and the Lola F3000, especially in the wet!
