New MOT History Checker

Mate, there's been an MOT history checker for years on the .gov site. I've used it for every car I've bought to sell on to back up the service history and confirm mileages where no paperwork has been given with the car. This may be a beta site, but it's just a rework of the original site. Remember, it used to be VOSA, it's now DVSA, and they're re-working all of the MOT system, including the way tests are clocked on and off, and the way results are entered. It's all via a website now, and we no longer need to use our smart cards, we literally log into DVSA's website as testers.

The previous version was good because if a service book hadn't been stamped, you could back track the MOT stations to find out if they'd serviced the car, (99% of my customers have a service and MOT together...) and if they had, if they could stamp the book up for you.

  • 3 weeks later...

Whenever I put my car in any insurance websites it always comes up as 1993 Mitsubishi Pajero Td, 2835CC Diesel, 5DR, Manual.

Why is this  a car that was scrapped then the plates were used on the Supra when it was registered?

The plates match up on the V5 document just seems weird to me!
