ripped_fear
So a few minor updates for me and the car. First off was attending the indoor Japanese performance show, was indoors on show and shine and wasn't a bad show. Next up was a few purchases, got my self a genuine set of face lift indicators, in need of some TLC so in the corner to be done over winter, still unsure if I want them on the car, but will decide once I have cleaned them up. And next was a spontaneous purchase, a chap locally was selling a set of Recaro speeds in great condition so got them bought along with a set of Sparco harnesses although I'm 99% sure I wont use the harness as I don't want a cage in this supra. Even though they are in great condition the plan is to have them recovered in leather or sell them on if i find a set of leather ones in the mean time. So will be on the hunt soon for some companies to quote on the Job. For now they are sitting pretty in the garage. Next I bought myself one of those hoodlock jobbies and must say I'm impressed with it, looks great imo. Although may be a touch pointless due to whats written below.... The final change is the fact for the last 12 months I have been doing the shows out of necessity due to the commitment to shadow sport. This has taken up most of my free time, for the last two years and I haven't got out of it quite what I was hoping for, Shadow Sports products have been great but considering I have been spending 2x annual leave days off, and 100 quid on fuel for each show it no longer makes sense to me to continue if I'm longer enjoying them, and using the car and spending time with grace is now more important to me. The shows have become a bit samey, seems that I'm just looking at the same cars in a different location, and especially not being on the forum stand has certainly made them loose something. Due to this I have decided to cut ties and we are going our separate ways. I want 2018 to be full of using the car, planning a couple of road trips, and hopefully DB18 and applecross to, so long as funds allow, and I intend to sign up to the 'Sporting bears' too as the concept of giving something back to a charity, while taking car enthusiasts out and going for a hoon seems like a brilliant opportunity. In celebration of this the final show has ben canceled this weekend and me and Luke (attero) have booked a repeat of our day 1 roadtrip from earlier in the year. So roll on Saturday... "Lads on tour...in a tea room" is BACK!
ripped_fear
So a few weeks back me and luke decided to do a re run of our day 1 tour, since been named "lads on tour in a tea room" we hit two of the best driving roads in the country, and a few other great routes. Next year we plan on trying to make it a forum event. The weather was awful this time round, but didn't stop us from having a blast, its the dirtiest my car has ever been but was bloody fun and totally worth it, had the old girl sideways at every opportunity which was entertaining. Since getting back it has been cleaned up, de stickered of the shadow sport decals and our stupid stickers, spark plugs changed and air filter cleaned and re oiled ready for suprapod this weekend. Here is a few pictures from the weekend...

ripped_fear
So been a while, September to be precise. Nothing on the car has changed although I do have a small list of jobs to be done. So last years events ended with Suprapod, On the day before me and attero decided to get a hotel last minuet to avoid an early start the next day, while driving up to Northampton my clutch decided to start slipping so I was gutted as I was booked on the strip for the following day. Decided not to run up the strip even though it was only slipping at the top end of 5th and 6th when on second turbo........ Well after driving to pod the following day the clutch wasn't slipping, and I did a passenger run in Luke's car and instantly decided if the clutch was going to die then do it in style. 9 runs up the strip later and the car was running mid/low 13's which I was rather happy with as I couldn't do a burn out, nor could I launch the car at its best. The last few runs I got in the clutch seemed to be starting to slip again and I was loosing a bit of time so called it a day happy. Day didn't go without drama though as we managed to do Lukes Flywheel in, which resulted in an AA call the following day. Typically it went when I ran the car up the strip as he wanted me to see what I thought to the car as it wasn't running at its best. sorry mate. That was the end to the 2017 season the car got parked up in the garage after a wash and it hadn't moved until today where I decided to take it out for a blast, great to be back behind the wheel of it again, miss driving a fun car and even though the clutch behaved itself today it looks like my bloody IACV has died again as at the tail end of the drive I lost the second turbo, and was only boosting to 0.6ish. Another thing to the list of work which I hope to line up at srd soon. New OEM Clutch New OEM gear shifter bushes New IACV Investigate a click on the brakes Oil and filter change Fix my gear shift gaiter Fix fogging head light Once this work is done I'm undecided on what to do with the car, either move it on, in way of another supra maybe a tiptronic, and use the remaining money on some mods/house work/ business venture, or Keep it and just use it on any/all drives I can this year. Who knows what the plan is but first step is to get the work done.

ripped_fear
So the car took a back seat for me, as I have had a big change in my life giving up zookeeping and am now self employed, so the car hasn't been a priority, but recently I have started to do a few bits and pieces to make sure its ready for the summer. So first I decided to tackle the second turbo issue, and having checking the iacv it seemed to be ok, so I was looking into other problems, but I decided to do a DIY smoke test with a cigar and sure enough it showed a vac line off buried down behind the plenum, plugged it back in and just need to take it for a spin to check now. So hoping that is sorted I have removed the head lights as one had got allot of moisture in it, and in pictures you can see the outer edge of both of them they have split on the seal. They are now dried out in the house and need to re-seal them in the week. Next I picked up a very tired strut brace which has now been sent to the body shop for some love, so I can swap out my old one. Along with the strut bar I have sent my spare TT ARB and mounts to the body shop to be repainted to as the first step to start doing the underside. I have also got a hold of some more recaro's which I'm looking into getting re-trimmed. And finally today I fixed the gear gaiter, removed the ring filed it down and refitted and glued in place as it had broken off in one area. ripped_fear
So spent the evening the other day re-sealing up my headlights on the sides. Unfortunately I still had the same silver line down the edges of both lights that the car has suffered with since I bought it, but hopefully they are water tight now. I'm now on the hunt for new lights, but for now to tidy them up i have wrapped the edges in a gloss black and am quite happy with the results After and before
