WELL, I think everyone says ~1.3 for STANDARDS,

but not sure if you can use more with hybrids ? ?

(I would think it's the standard Turbines / wastegates which

are the problem - 'boostwise' that is ?)

FatS.

[hang on.... more advice WILL follow from the 'MASTERS'........:) ]

435bhp on standard turbos? I think the remapped ECU could make this possible from what ive read and with the other mods you have.

But the best thing to do is take it to a rolling road and do a power run..this will give you BHP figures and more importantly will check your fuelling etc is correct. You dont want any engine damage do you?!!

Most people run at 1.2bar on standard turbos.

Is that the black car out of Japan performance?

1.2 bar to be safe, 1.3 bar max I think. The j-spec turbos are quite "fragile" as standard, they're spinning so fast and getting so hot at those boost levels the blades have an unfortunate habit of flying off

If you want any more power than that you need hybrid turbos (to get more air in) and Uk spec 550cc fuel injectors/pump/resistor pack (you can't force all that extra air in without fuel to match or there will be BIG problems!).

When taking out both cats on a Jspec, the max bost level varies from car to car. AFAIK most of us have to leave a cat in or stick in a restrictor to keep boost safely below 1.2 bar when running a free flow exhaust system.

But I know in the back of my mind, now that Im de-catted and running max 1.1bar, that my J-Spec turbos are going to be shortened in life span, just because they were designed to run at that level, thats why if you de-catt you shoud have little pot of money put aside, becuase as far as Im concerned that day will come when they decide to go whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnee...........Its just a matter of time.

There are cars out there that have run that kind of boost levels on ceramics & lasted, it's just that IMHO if you raise the boost significantly past stock levels then sooner or later the ceramics will give up the ghost. That is when it makes perfect sense to buy hybrids rather than plough money back into another stock set.

The damage is about about 2k for a set of hybrids;)

Shouldn't damage anything. If they go because you drop a plug though this may well have caused damage on the way through.

I wouldn't worry about that, quite a few cars have survived my jetisoned exhaust baffle.
