Kendo11
Been very busy recently but I have made some decent progress. I got some dark black self adhesive material that I've stuck on the central parts of the discs, so as to try to keep the LED rings highlighted. I then got on with getting the wiring sorted correctly and then started to get the units put back together. Basically just the reverse of dismantling them. When I know everything works I'll get all of the connections properly crimped together. One unit just about put together. A sneak peak of one 95% finished and connected. More progress to come! - - - Updated - - - Sorry about the quality of them bloody pictures again also!

Guest Sketch
Kendo - I've been using these LED rings in mine for a year or so now, they do spit the odd led on a regular basis so make sure it's not to much drama to take the back out and replace. They will also be too bright for tail lights - ok for brake/indicator/fog but you'll need resistors on the tail lights, only a small drop tho try 50/100ohm. 1K dims them way too much How it look on the car..... Guest Sketch
Btw looks really sweet man!! I just put the red rings in for tail lights and kept the rest bulbs, but yours look wicked!! Another thing I did was paint a thin coat of red onto them to blend inside the lense, but since you're using filter paper that may not work for you! Excited to see the finished product! Kendo11
Thanks Sketch, I'm going to be tinting them at some point hopefully to take down the brightness a notch, that's pretty much the next stage.

Kendo11
Some updates on this. I got all the wires crimped together properly, then decided to wrap them as opposed to spray tinting them. I first went with a really dark one but it ended up looking too dark and totally hiding the rings. So today I wrapped them in a fly eye wrap which works much better. Quick teaser shot of them on also. Just need to reattach the rubber surround and then they're ready to fit.

listy
How much would you say this has cost you? If you don't mind me asking. I've been planning on doing an led conversion for ages but this seems much simpler and less fiddly.

At the moment for absolutely everything I've used I'm sitting in between £40-£50 I think.
herbiemercman
Great to see "True Brits" doing stuff like this, they look good, the OEM ones are mega expensive and will never be manufactured for low volume mk4 supras, you could end up on "Dragon's Den" and if they don't like your idea, you can tell them all to f--k off on air. lol. Kendo11
Well these are now completely finished although I don't have a picture today, will get one done tomorrow. I did end up fitting some resistors for the indicators.
Kendo11
Quick couple of pictures to show them finished. Not fitted but you get the idea: I do want to source some C-West covers at some point. Further updates for these will be in my project thread as per my signature. (padlock is to stop my unfitted bumper blowing away in the wind!)

Same reason my front bumper is attached with two shoelaces at the moment lol.
Kendo11
Final pic of these on this thread, fitted and working at night time. I may have another go at these and adjust the layout - the light that is off is the brake light. Might change it around next time, and still need to get them properly tinted. The 'bug eye' wrap looks good but the tinting will be more permanent. Rainy and crap camera I'm afraid: I also stumbled on these old Z lights that I think are incredible, so I might have a go at something like this next: Further updates and pics of these will all be on my main thread (in sig) from now on.
