tooquicktostop
I know you wont care much but that is a fast bike to start with
j_jza80
As above, even as an unashamed speed addict, there's no way I'd start with a 600. It would be like having an MR2 turbo as your first car.
Jellybean
I know you wont care much but that is a fast bike to start with I know where you are coming from and fully agree, but I think if you respect the power and your ability, there is no reason I cannot ride it ; similar to a knife, it can be a very dangerous weapon or a very useful implement depending how you use it For the full Bike License I have to have minimum 600 cc Bike I am open to options but what draws me towards this bike is the looks and reliability plus price point 2nd hand

I started out in a Supra TT 9 years ago lol Bit crazy but once you respect the car
Mk4Gaz
I bought a brand new k5 600 when it came out. Lovely bike, and very capable, and also very easy to control. Being honest, if I had another one, I'd go for the 750, as the 600 lacks the mid range grunt, and you'll find yourself constantly changing gears. That said, I loved mine, and was gutted when I sold it.
Jamesy
I got, and still have, a gsxr 600 as my first bike. Its awesome and scares the s**t out of me daily!!
Nick
I also had a 600 K5 as my first bike. I think the fact it was a quick bike made me more mindful about treating it with respect.
Jellybean
Thanks Guys , is there anything to look out for, looking at a K5, common issues? In general with Serving a bike , I notice in the ads alot of them mention chains, sprockets replaced ; is this a question I should ask if not indicated? zaheer0027
Chains and sprockets are normal wear and tear items for any bike. Check tires for wear. Also check they are the same thread and compound. Inside of belly pan for signs of any oil leak. Original fairing kit. If it has an aftermarket kit has it been in an accident? Where is the original? Just a few things off the top of my head. Also as has been said, 600 a bit too fast for a first bike. The mantra of respecting the vehicle is different for a car and bike. A bike requires a lot less effort to go fast and that speed gets addictive quickly. Do yourself a favour and get a 400 or a 600 along the lines of a gsr 600. Still a quick bike just not as extreme as a gsxr.
Jellybean
Cool Thanks ! Was also told the K8 as switchable maps to reduce power Will see how I do in the IBT course on a Bandit before I buy anything Nice one in Megabikes, might be worth the extra $$$ for the warranty and knowing it had a service http://www.donedeal.ie/motorbikes-for-sale/suzuki-gsx-r-gsxr600k7/10467137?offset=20 http://donedeal.akamaized.net/motorbikes/suzuki-gsx-r-gsxr600k7/View2/46899157.jpeg What do people recommend for Bike Security? It will be parked in underground carpark What brands for gloves, boots and jacket, Dainese, Alpinestars, heard Daytona do good boots , anybody else do good gear
