carl0s
http://www.singlesupra.com/ebaysingle.html Surely a repost? Awesome. it's a summary of this thread on Supraforums. I know one of our guys has done a 'test run' on the XS Power kits, but there's a decent writeup here, as well as info on changing the turbo exhaust housing to a smaller one for only $50. I'm excited I wonder how hard it is to learn pipe-bending? I fancy using a stock SMIC.
carl0s
I can't beleive they banned him for doing a (positive) writeup on the eBay turbo kit. That's a poor show :thumbdown

GeordieSteve
Possibly in the past. Looks like they've been working very hard to get things right. I took my manifold to a welders and he was very impressed

mikeyb10supra
have heard of recent WG failures, but time is the big test. Terry could you not ditch this wastegate it comes with and use a different one with the setup??
GeordieSteve
No problems. It's quiet possible that I'm not fitting it now (bargain on a T78 kit but I have to wait to see if I won it) but I'm selling it to another guy (who shall remain nameless) who will be using it
Guest Terry S
Terry could you not ditch this wastegate it comes with and use a different one with the setup?? yeah but then you are into the realms of "proper" kit money. I heard of a WG failure last week, but that may be an isolated icident.
LeeT
yeah but then you are into the realms of "proper" kit money. I heard of a WG failure last week, but that may be an isolated icident. ive heard stories of the actual wastegate cracking. im running one on mine with no problems so far although i havent really given it any stick yet. limited to half a bar untill i find time to get the fuelling installed. terry, which wastegate could it be swapped out for? MONKEYmark
i seen the cheaper wastegate against my hks one they have a different shape at bottom more of rectangle as opposed to a square flange on the hks. the cheaper ones look well made to me and you also get lots of different springs too. the cheaper one was a bit heavier.the top of wastegates look same casting to hks. terry the ones in the bl kits are the adjustable by just fitting in a new spring. whats the connection on top of wastegate. also aint they a 50mm hks racing wastegate
carl0s
wow man I had a dream about the XSPower turbos last night! How bizzzare. I was in my local chav area and there was an old escort-styled peugeot racing up and down the road with a massive turbo sticking up out of the bonnet. Shortly after it went bang and the engine bay was on fire. But it was fast. Then at a later date (same dream) there was a yellow chevvy-something (both cars were styled like escort-mk1s) and it did the same, but was fast! I asked the chavs where they were getting their turbos and they took me round to some back-street place nearby. I showed my interest and said i was glad there was somebody selling them over here because I'd looked at them, and asked if he'd be able to get the precise one I wanted. He tried to tell me how the one he had there was suitable, and went on with himself a bit. I asked if I could borrow it to look over particularly because it had an information leaflet in the packet which included a list of their whole range. He said yeah no prob but you'll have to give me £15 to pay for my taxi back to the garage. We'd only walked 200yds fom his garage but I said ok whatever and went to a cash machine to draw out the money. While waiting at the cash machine the taxi driver lady (quite fit too) said to get a move on and I said well how much will it be, and pulled some change out of my pocket, from which she took £4, then gave me a cheeky look and tried to take another two quid. I said I don't think so, you're trying it on, and gave her £1.50 more. Whilst reading the enclosed information leaflet, I realised they were all T-Shirts. There were about 6 nicely folded over t-shirts in the packet and the information leaflet was all about t-shirts too. I was looking at the turbo I had and it was only the exhaust-side, which bizzarely was regtangle-shaped like those small 12v air-compressors you use for inflating your car's tyres. End of dream I think.
GeordieSteve
Change of plan. I'm going to running XS power manifold, pownpipe, wastegate but with a SP63 turbo.
