Guest dimis
recently i upgraded my LEXUS IS200 from a supercharger kit to a 2JZGTE VVTI from an Aristo. I also upgraded the twin turbos to a massive single turbo 4088R. I am using oem Aristo ECU for the moment. the specs up to now are: 2JZGTE VVTi (from Aristo) R154 Gearbox Garrett 4088r T4 Greddy intake with MAF Adaptor (for Aristo model) Super spark coils NGK Racing R7434-8 spark plugs AEM 350LPM fuel pump Greddy OLED Greddy BCC Well the problem is that there is a hesitation at low rpm up to approximately 2000 rpm, during acceleration from stop. all above parts are new and recently installed. i have read many similar issues posted in the forum but many state to cylinder misfire which in my case it is probably not applied due to new powerful coils and spark plugs. other state to maf location (which is also new). i have installed it before the turbo and not before the intake. so any other suggestions what could be the problem? i have not installed yet the fuel pump controller. could this be cause of the problem? also i have connected the tester on the obd and i do not read any faults. thanks for your help! Swampy442
I also upgraded the twin turbos to a massive single turbo 4088R. I am using oem Aristo ECU for the moment. That might be your problem. I never get why people go to such expense but don't get a decent ECU. Get an ECU, get it mapped properly, your problem will be diagnosed and probably fixed. Secondly VVTIs with flowmeters don't like BOVs and is known to cause running issues. Is the MAF adaptor pipe the correct diameter?
Paul Whiffin
It will never work like that I'm afraid, you need to fit a mappable ecu and remove the air flow meter. Syvecs stand alone is the only one I know that will work 100% ok with this setup.
Guest dimis
hi, thanks for the reply. yes the maf pipe is the correct diameter. is 3inch and it is made by greddy for this engine type. by searching around the web i found that a possible problem could be a faulty ocv. i will check the valve and let you know.
