keeping windows up (without the cable mechanism)

Hi all,

So stumbled across a problem whilst in the middle of rebuilding the supra for what i think is the 4th and final time, this time purely for drag racing. on stripping the interior i removed the little mechanism which winds the windows up and down not realizing that by doing so the windows would roll down and obviously not go back up as not under the tension of the cable. i dont need the windows to roll up and down and just need to get it into the up position and stay there! has anyone any ideas? i will be going lexan at some point but not at this time as getting the correct wheels is more of a priority over replacing the glass windows with lexan.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

the mechanism has two cables going into it. one which winds it down the other winds it up and both under tension. im not sure how close the window is to the rail and i think the bottom of the window is actually higher then the access area.

will have another look though at that idea.

i wondered if maybe i should wedge small amount of timber in there and drill that to the rail.
