Rob_Mitchell
Anyone had any good results using plasti-dip? I want to refurb the dash panels but want to keep it sort of stock looking and I see this stuff is like a spray on rubber?? Anyone used this product or similar
Al Massey
Yes, loads of cars. My dash is done in plastidip and there's a few holes now due to rubbing etc but the test is ok. I used to spray cars and wheels and if done right it holds up great
ripped_fear
It sounds cheap but if you want to have it look OEM buy Halfords own brand Matt black aerosol. It is almost a perfect match. My ODO surround isnt done but my dash is and edge to edge you can barely tell. Been in my car 4 years and still hard wearing no scratches. Mmmmmm decisions I think you should get a Walnut dash, it will compliment your Coffee and Cream interior nicely !!

Mmmmmm decisions Its sounds like a nasty route, but you know I have access to a paint shop, and after proper prep the halford can was one of the best matches and by far the cheapest. ripped_fear
These are pictures from 2012 when we did it. You can see the colour match as the odo one isnt done.
Big Mark
Consider frost wrap instead of plasi-dip. Frost wrap was created for this purpose where as plasi-dip was created for an entirely different purpose and hence peels etc. Watch this for proof:
mc92
I did some wheels with it, I think I did about 6 coats. You have to do a lot of coats and prepare the surface well to get a properly even and strong paintjob. They haven't peeled yet, I've been using them for a few thousand miles. I also tried an off-brand one from Halfords which didn't give as smooth a finish but hasn't peeled yet either.
creative
*cough* Hydrodipping *cough* Just received my starter kit to give this a go. Seems fairly straight forward to do, just practice is needed.
Abz
You are building a carbon car right? Then get it done in Carbon Fibre
Mk4Gaz
As Mark (big mark) says. Frosts liquid wrap is far better. I used plastidip on my interior panels, and although it looks ok, it's terrible to clean, and wears very easily.

Spunkmeyer
Leathertech have been recommended to me but they are in Cheshire/Staffordshire. Do leather and vinyl repairs and resprays and said to be excellent cannot tell the difference. I'm about to use them so can post up when it's done
