N/A spark plug question

Right am currently running BKR6EIX spark plugs in my n/a as have 75shot of nos. And in couple weeks am going to mgt to see what can run safe on engine. Garth is going to use det cans to detect knock and see what can raise nos shot too safely ready for Santa pod at jap show finale. He has recommend I fit colder plugs ready for the increased nos hit.

Question is if raise to 7 or 8 grade plugs will I develop any running issues apart from cold start up please?

In farness Dude there are not too many who have gone down the nos route. I would have thought your mapper was the best person to advise if he is experienced at building and tuning cars with spray. I know fruitysouth on here ran nos for a while before he went 1uz, drop him a pm and see what he used. Why not buy a set of grade 7 coppers and a set of grade 8s and take them with you to the mapping session?

My mapper said 7s or 8s should be fine but I wanted just some advise on any running problems that's all before spent the money. Have ordered 7s now as unsure if the 8s would be too cold of plug on na engine and this isn't 1st time, I posted about my transmission upgrades few weeks ago and didn't get one comment or anything. Went for iridium plugs instead of copper as they better plug

NGK have a very helpful technical department. I have had experience of NOS, all bad, and have seen plenty of pistons with crushed ring lands where customers have done just what you are saying you are about to do, see how much bigger they can go on jets after I fitted ones with a good safety margin. Mapping a car on NOS is like mapping a turbo engine, but one where the turbos come on boost instantly, for just a few seconds, during which time you have to assess timing and fuelling. Always a danger of det, and with NOS literally a second of it will crush the ring lands or worse. If you are worried about plug grade warm the thing up on a mild grade, then swap to cold ones, although it's a bit of a faff with an N/A.

If, as I suspect, you have just nailed NOS on a stock N/A engine without a means of ignition retard and fuelling changes, I would not try and get the Nth degree from it, it will end in expensive tears.

I have a top spec NOS system that cost over 2.5k and has only fuel system to add fuel when activated and the system has 4 safety devices and has been specced to supply up to 250shot and I only running 75 at min but every 75 it recommends that go grade cooler on plug and I want to increase to 100shot and just wanted to know about any na running issues. Also my ignition has been retarted so that system is safe when in use.
