G9RGE Posted September 17, 2015 Share Posted September 17, 2015 I have been looking for a new gearbox and have put wanted posts up on here and on driftworks. Yesterday I was messaged by a guy on driftworks with a complete setup for a reasonable price the only problem is he is in malaysia and so are the parts. I sent him my number so we could chat via Whatsapp and his number is a Malaysian one and he sent me lots of photos and whilst studying here worked at jm imports. He seems to be honest and sees ok but then I don't want to be at the end of a scam. He has suggested payment via PayPal, and my question is, how safe am I as a buyer sending money that way. If this was a company you were buying from then it would be no problem, you can just pay as little as 1p on a credit card and the rest bank transfer, and you would be covered for the whole amount by the credit card under section 75.
