Fitting a 2014 Toyota Yaris steering wheel

Quick question after having a browse through the forums and it seems Yaris/Auris steering wheels fit Supras. However while digging I came across a post where someone said there's an issue with their clock spring after fitting an Auris wheel (not compatible). Does this apply to the Yaris wheel? Or if not, is there a way around it?

This is the wheel I'm (planning) on fitting:

If anyone's interested I'm planning to fit the wheel, hook up the steering controls using an adapter to my Pioneer Appradio, as mine's a tiptronic I'll be fitting paddle-shifters from an AMG - j_jza80s for example.

Thanks in advance

I have the same steering wheel on the MR2 (which from memory is the same fit as the Supra), the clock spring IS a different size, it fits but because of this the indicators only cancel on one side. If you intend to fit a working airbag as well I'm pretty sure it won't fit.

I fitted an auris sport wheel to mine, yet the clock spring was a different size, the only issue i had was that the spring needed to be held further in, so i made a little adapter ring to press the clock spring inwards and then the indicator auto cancels worked fine :)

Don't suppose you have a picture showing how you did it? I've just found the flappy paddle versions of this wheel for £60, it'd save me £50 so quite eager to do it now. Thanks or your input

Hero, thanks for that. Appreciate it, i've now found a Yaris wheel with paddle shifter so two birds with one stone.

hey, i had a look, i could find any pictures exactly but i found a picture and ill just explain what i did.

So in the picture the arrow points a plastic ring with 3 studs on it, when the original supra wheel is in place it holds this plastic ring inwards and the ring turns with the wheel and the clock spring and is the mechanism for the auto cancel, the wheels from other cars like the auras and yaris etc aren't as deep as the original supra wheel so this plastic ring springs outwards more and in this position it doesn't cause the auto cancel of the indicators and makes a horrible clicking sound on turning, so what i did was to make a small wooden ring to sit between the new wheel and this plastic ring, i just used some wood i had lying around and bored a hole in the centre for it to go over the spline, and drilled a 3 holes in it to line up with the studs on the plastic ring. and this solved my auto cancel problems, unfortunately i didn't take a picture of the wooden ring.

ah i see, so you basically made a spacer ring for it pretty much?

Was it literally putting the drilled spacer ring in, or did you have to put something in the holes to mimic the studs you just covered?

Hopefully it's something that'll make sense when it's in front of me lols. Expecting my Yaris wheel next week so looking forward to having a fiddle

No the studs normally fit directly into the stock supra wheel, and i found that with the spacer ring the studs where really needed as the whole thing turned with the wheel and clock spring anyway, but yes when its infant of you it will make sense :)

Awesome, I've got a friend who has his own small engineering company. Will be getting the wheel next week so can have a spacer ring made up. Might get a few made up just in case anyone else wants them / have some spares.

Thank you very much for your help. I'll get some pics up when done :D
