krisgowing
Morning. After driving to Milton Keynes and back from Norwich yesterday I parked back at home and notice my rear number plate was missing. Seems it must of came of at some point, Surprised I didn't get pulled at all. Having the rear jap bumper I need the jap style number plate. Everywhere I've tries so far just have the normal style. Is it worth just doing this until I can find someone to do the bigger style or am I risking a lot by driving without one or making a temporary one, I'm not even sure I should debate that. Is it easy to find a garage to do this style or would a Wilko etc have this.
Frank Bullitt
Jurgen does them IIRC, he may even be able to get one done and out to you tomorrow
JayJay1374
You can get plates made on eBay. And there usually pretty quick.

rider
Having the rear jap bumper I need the jap style number plate. . No you don't. A UK motorbike number plate covers the hole and then you can either tape it around the edges which I did for 16 years without loss though the tape did need replacing every couple of years when it started to lift. the final solution that I got around to after 16 years was to tape around the edges and screw to the bracket behind with, I think the size was M6, stainless screws. Now that plate isn't going anywhere.
krisgowing
This is the size that I need the number plate to be and below when I had it on haha.
mc92
I got one from number1plates.com, it's 178x330mm and overlaps the hole by a few mm on each side. I don't think it's big enough to get any grip from tape alone, but I mounted it by the screw holes.
rider
The Std. M/C plate should fill your hole with a few mm cover around the edges. This site has plates up to 14 inches wide with 7 inch height Edited September 15, 2015 by rider (see edit history)

Abz
I went to my local spares\parts garage and they had the Jap size. It was a motor spares shop which did number plates as well, worth phoning anyone local to you. Though as others have mentioned on the web it is pretty good, I ordered some recently and they turned up in 2 days. Also it should be fitted with the two screws, no way would that come off. krisgowing
Could have been stolen Would of thought that if the front was missing to, Seems unusual for just the rear. Reported to the DVLA in case.
krisgowing
Only gone and lost the front one now.. The last owner used sticky pads, so this time I'm making sure I screw them in like I have done with the rear. Do you guys use standard UK size for your fronts? Thanks

mc92
I've got a standard UK sized one on the front, it looks fine. It comes down to personal preference I suppose.
