Best Track Days

I am fortunate that I have a mechanic for a dad who can help mod, repair advise etc, also gets trade prices on parts. I fully understand its not cheap as I come from a racing background, things have changed allot since my family raced though! I just wanted to test the waters really so didn't want to spend a fortune, If I enjoy it and am serious I'd then go for the ARDS test, get a car etc etc. The BHP Show is a cheap track day and quite fun, I've been a passenger but never a driver and you do get normal people that just put their every day car on the track

Also I am not planning on starting off in a GTR, as tempting as it is!! lol ;)

Forget your 30 quid sessions if you want to gain anything out of attending a trackday, thats ok for a little taster, like chris said book at Donington or bedford and book some tuition if you are unsure about what you`re doing.

Just want to have a little taster at the moment, if I am serious I'll go full hog with tuition etc :) I am down south so would probably do tuition at Brands :)

I'd advise doing a full day, not a taster the cost of the day is relatively immaterial as others have pointed out as the wear and tear on the car is more and fuel. Though starting out will likely be less burdensome until up to speed. Blyton (lots of cheap weekend days) or Bedford have lots of run off.

Also I would advise getting the most out of day seeming as you paid for it, the number of people who pack up by 14:00 on most days is crazy. Fill up car before getting there in morning and again at lunch time to ensure enough fuel, once you get into it you'll need jerry cans as well.

edit to add - take lots of tools and fluids with you just in case.

Nice. Is it true that some tracks say you must have a cage if you run slicks??

Also I pretty much arrive and drive, so r888s are my road tyres as well

Also not many scrubbed 20" slicks around

It is true yes but tbh i think thats really for open top cars, caterfield etc, also yes you would struggle to get anything above 18", how many days do get out of a set of r888`s out of interest?
