DT125
On a BPU car it will go in the mid pipe Needs to be at an angle so it's no contaminated by water in the exhaust, all this explained in the instructions with pictures. The gauge runs on 12v same as everything else in the car ok mate cheers for the ecu pin data . mid pipe is for diagnostics . I will read up on o2 sensors .but cheers for the help . Chris Wilson
The term "BPU" is an Americanism, like Stage 1, or Stage 2, and pretty meaningless, but generally this forum assumes it means reducing back pressure in the exhaust by removing one or both catalytic converters. The fact the stock wastegate is quite small means the system can then run away with itself and produce too much boost. The way around this, at reasonable cost, with stock turbo castings, is to introduce some restriction in the exhaust. Less than that provided by the original cats, but more than that from a very free flowing exhaust with no cats present. This is the restrictor plate in the exhaust's job. Fiddling with wastegate piping is only needed if you wish to keep the stock exhaust which has a fair amount of restriction, or still run the stock 2 cats, and raise boost by means of a boost controller. Boost controllers can *ONLY* *ONLY* *ONLY* raise boost beyond stock wastegate cum restriction levels, they *CANNOT* reduce boost. So if you desire the maximum half efficient and safe boost on stock turbos of 1.2 bar on J-Spec turbos, there is no need to fiddle with wastegate piping. Just fit a free flowing exhaust and remove both cats, add an FCD, and make sure your fuel pump is as good as new, or fit an aftermarket one. Fiit cooler running rare metal electrode plugs for additional anti detonation safety levels, and the job is done. My FCD is wired just like a Greddy one, I even kept the same wire colour coding as the popular, but obsolete Greddy units, and they come with a link to web based wiring and fitting instructions, whether they be for VVTi engines or pre VVTi ones. I hope this helps. 1500 BHP is a *LOT* more involved, very short term, and VERY expensive
Lee P
ok mate cheers for the ecu pin data . mid pipe is for diagnostics . I will read up on o2 sensors .but cheers for the help . For diagnostics you would be using the tail pipe. The sensor is supposed to be a minimum of 36" away from the exhaust port to protect it from the heat, although most single kits do place it in the down pipe close to the turbo. http://aemelectronics.com/files/instructions/30-4110%20Digital%20Wideband%20UEGO%20Gauge.pdf
The Raven
Sorry but can someone tell me why you would cut and bung vac pipes? I've never heard of this in all the years I've been here
Supraleeturbo
Dude you don't cut turbo pipes to bpu Yes you do raven you cut all turbo pipes and cut wires on the ecu then glue the fcd in that the way HE needs to do it anyways

Thanks for clearing that up
