Branners
It sounds like I have manage to blow a rear left and front right speaker (90s dance music is to blame). Anybody got a recommendation for the best value speakers I can put in there? Or does anybody have a full set of good stock ones I could put in as I dont really need any more power than I already have. thanks
Supraleeturbo
Go to Halfords and get a set of vibe mate there good bang for your buck
Branners
Thanks. What size front and rear should I get?
j_jza80
I got some basic 13cm and 17cm pioneer co-axials off eBay, and put the fronts in the stock boxes using home made adapters, and rears in the stock mounts. Cost me circa £50 in total, and is a huge improvement over stock. Obviously won't compete with the likes of Rainbow, Focal etc, but is a decent upgrade for little outlay
tooquicktostop
Focals are very good in my experience
j_jza80
Focals are amazing, but you're looking at £200 for a pair And to make the most of them, they need amplifying and sound deadening. Audiophile quality setups are very expensive, and a bit OTT in old cars IMO.

Frank Bullitt
Focals at a great price here - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/speakers/component-systems/6-5-inch-comp-17cm/focal-access-165as-16-5cm-2-way-component-speaker
j_jza80
They're still 6x the price of the speakers I was recommending
listy
Fli are good value for money too. About £30-£40 for a pair. I have them in mine and haven't had a problem.
imi
Used to have infinity speakers in mine (17cm front - 2way) - they were very good and didn't break the bank....
Tyson
As above just make sure you get adapters for the front, I know srd sell them. My fli ones are great for the price I paid but the rears really need adapters too as they don't fit properly.
