kevin smith
As I'm new to owning a supra and it's been years since I have worked on car. What's the difference between UK and jap speck front calipers,
stevie_b
UK spec front calipers have 4 pistons in an opposed arrangement. Standard JSpec ones have 2 pistons.
kevin smith
Thanks so jap ones are smaller, can UK spec. Be fitted without to much fuss.
j_jza80
UK spec calipers and discs are a straight swap, though the dust shields on the back will either need replacing, bending or trimming. Lexus LS400 4 pot brake calipers and discs are a decent budget upgrade for front brakes, though disc and pad choice is limited.

Swampy442
If you see both J spec and UK spec side by side, its easy to tell the difference. Also people don't tell you the LS discs are smaller, and you have to grind bits off the calipers to make them fit.
j_jza80
It's only a tiny amount of the webbing, and this conversion has been done many times and I haven't seen a single issue. Yes, the LS400 setup is inferior to the UK one, but it is still a marked improvement to the j-specs, and at a fraction of the price of UKs.
