T14PPA
Im fitting my new manifold but the oem studs hit the bottom tubes on the manifold. Was wondering if anyone does shorter studs? Or is the only way to cut them? Or if anyone else has a way around it? Any help would be appreciated
Chris Wilson
Shorten them and use K nuts (Google them).
j_jza80
If you're cutting them with a grinder, make sure no splinters etc can get into the exhaust ports
Chris Wilson
Eeek! Take them out and do them in a soft jawed vice with a fine toothed hacksaw! Lock two nuts on them if you don't have a stud extractor.

I'm sure you're well aware that people often do things like this on the car Although it's nowhere near as bad as people drilling the sump on their NA-T's while it's still fitted, that really is asking for trouble! Chris Wilson
I THINK they are M10 x 1.25, but would like to check a scrap head tomorrow as my mind is on a race engine that I am making studs for so I am not 100% without double checking. They look like a little flange nut, and typically they'll use a smaller spanner/socket than a normal nut for the same thread size. - - - Updated - - - If you wouldnt mind checking for me chris i would appreciate that.
