jjs_82
Anyone
Scott
It's going to depend on a whole load of variables. However, around 1.4 should be do-able on 95 ron. Going to take a fairly serious turbo to hit those figures at that pressure.
jjs_82
When you say 1.4 do you mean boost.
Scott
Indeed. Even with a really big turbo I wouldn't take it any further. Best to speak to a mapper and see what they think though
jjs_82
Was thinking about the 62mm from Paul but he thinks it might be no good. Don't want to end up with a big turbo and a lot of lag.
jjs_82
If I get a turbo that will make 800bhp would that not do the job. I can get 98octane
JackyBoi
If I get a turbo that will make 800bhp would that not do the job. I can get 98octane Something like a 6266 or 6466 would be ideal for you. I think a 6466 can max at 900hp with virtually no lag EDIT: by no lag, I mean full boost around 3000/3500rpm
Swampy442
Speak to your mapper. The quality of the ECU and mapper are bigger concerns than the size of the turbo.

Needs to be a good size to get the power you are looking for without pinking out. Ryan is good at mapping Syvecs. Surely you discussed that? jjs_82
Ryan said he is no longer mapping in the uk he is moving to dubai next weekend with syvecs.

jjs_82
Would a turbo that size not have a good bit or lag?

Scott
Would a turbo that size not have a good bit or lag? The modern tubby's are good. Your limiting factor is the fuel you will be using. You need a sledge hammer to knock in a nail.
jjs_82
I could run 2maps one on 95ron and one on 98ron. Do think the whifbitz 64.5mm fmw would do my job?
pedrosixfour
Could Ryan not recommend another Syvecs mapper in the UK? If not I can see the arse falling out of the resale values!

666
Try Arnout @ suprasport. He does syvecs, aem etc. Best of the best when it comes to supras.
johnny g
Syvecs have another calibrator in house now, I believe. I'd run a GTX3582R, you might get 550bhp at 1.4-1.5bar. It's all about boost versus timing. You can retard timing and get more boost. You'll just need more boost for the given power. Getting a turbo for response over power will help. You'll get 500bhp, probably 550bhp. Will you really notice a difference with 500 over 550?
jjs_82
650 is the goal. Well if I can get 550 on 95and over 600 98 I would be happy
drift_bear
If you can get 98ron then why not just run that all the time and not mess around with 95ron? Have you thought about the methanol/ethanol mix at all? That might help you out
