Dan H
Hi everyone Has anyone else had problems trying to insure a post 1999 JDM Supra ? All the comparison websites are only going up to 1999 and when putting in the registration plate for the 2002 car not recognizing it. Some even saying they can't insure a 2002 RZS although identical to a 1999 RZS !? Any suggestions with who would actually insure a 2002 Supra ? Thanks Daniel
James
Hi Daniel and welcome to the forum I'd recommend phoning the prospective companies and gathering quotes that way - that way you'll also be able to ensure that no details are put in incorrectly, giving you an accurate quote. Havard
Hi Daniel. I would speak to Lynbrook, A Plan, Adrian Flux, Footman James, Carole Nash, Keith Michaels as performance specialists to get insurance prices. Not sure you could get it on a classic policy but worth a try. H.

Thank you Havard , hopefully I can get somewhere with these ! just seems ridiculous that the insurance companies and comparison websites I've used (very well known insurance companies as well !) don't have the model data and refuse to insure a 2002 RZ-S even though its identical to the 1993-1999 models they can insure. Classic car policy sounds great, I didn't realize the supra could potentially qualify for this !
Swampy442
Also give RH specialists and good old Adrian Flux a ring. I normally recommend Sky insurance but Im rapidly losing faith in their service.

It probably won't qualify as it is under 15 years old. http://www.classiclineinsurance.co.uk/modern-classic-car-insurance/ These may be worth a try though as age doesn't come into it. I normally recommend Sky insurance but Im rapidly losing faith in their service. I have never had a positive experience with Sky besides meeting Ollie at JAE, he was a nice chap. Quotes have been silly high though. H.
Swampy442
Ive been with Sky for many years and they've always been good to me, but recently you're talking 20 minutes on hold to get through to anyone in customer services (sales is an almost instant pick up) No reply to call backs or emails either. Dan H
Hi guys thanks for all your suggestions, we have made several enquiries based on your recommendations but we got there in the end as the insurance model year issue has been resolved today ! Many many thanks to Liverpool Victoria who have successfully insured my 2002 RZ-S. A credit to them for resolving this and I can highly recommend them for customer service. It's always nice when you have an insurance company available at the end of the phone, rather then those in the past via email communication only ! When I get the chance to go out and get some nice photos of the car this week Ill do an official newbie/this is my supra post ! But in short a very happy owner of a stock White May 2002 RZ-S tiptronic fresh import with OEM side skirts and rear spats, active front spoiler and leather seats. Well worth the wait ! G9RGE
Congrats on the pur chase, I see your in Dorset, where abouts? I think we need to organise a meet soon as there are a few of us now
evinX
Honestly, I wouldn't even give comparisons sites a chance, unless it was a UK spec model and you were above 50. Phone around, all depends on the day and the sales person. Mods on a comparison site will just throw it in to gobbledygook mode. Phone around. Try Sky Insurance, our chosen club insurance company. CALL! And if you have a dirty driving history, you better have some big funds. EDIT, I wouldn't even bother calling Adrian flux, they told me if I had 1 mod they wouldn't touch me?! so I said goodybye.
