Ian R
We need more points on there. I've got 15 How do you manage that I though 11 or more was a ban or have you got a very good brief
GeordieSteve
I got 11 when I was 17 and had to re-sit my test (mitigating circumstances an all). Re sat my test and got my licence back and a couple of years later... got another 4! Luckily I only have to tell the insurance about 4 of them now but it's a nightmare to have them hanging over your head

Marco
No points for me! Earlier this week I spotted a revenue making police van on a dual carriage way, but I think I braked hard enough in time for them to see what speed I was doing! TOUCH WOOD! Also hope my small numberplate was difficult to see I don't even know if I could get points on my Belgian license!
Mike
3.. for doing 50 in a 40 zone... not even a good story to tell.... I got the pictures though.. the car looks lush.. BREAKING THE LAW!! BREAKING THE LAW!!
michael
43 in a 30 zone that was a 40 zone the week before - driver in front of me was going faster but chap in the white Impreza with blue lights decided to punish me instead. Also had 3 points removed from way back - off duty policeman accelerated as I overtook (within the speed limit) and forced me to stay out longer than anticipated - this resulted in me potentially clipping a single white line as I completed the move. He decided to do me for overtaking on a double white though - this wasn't the case but it was me (aged 18 at the time) against him. 3 points, £100 fine and a bad feeling about North Yorks police ever since
Jurgen-Jm-Imports
11 few years ago nearly got banned now down to
neo1
Had 12 when i was 17 for doing 140 on a motorway while they had a temporary 50mph limit in place.... Also got a £1550 fine and a 1 Month ban. All for the one offence. In fairness though, i think i got off VERY lightly indeed. These days thats a 6 month stretch at a secure holiday resort but now i'm a good boy, points dropped of when i was 20-21 and have been well behaved ever since..... For the first 4 years my insurance was a joke.... hence now i am armed to the teeth with anti gatso / laser / radar.... the lot.
how_supra
I had 9 points [all for speeding] up until Feb 05. 3 dropped off in Feb and a further 3 dropped off in June this year. So now I have just the three...................... Road Angel is my friend...........

DJButler
and NEVER had any in 27 years of driving. guess I was lucky when I was young and too careful now Im old Got my licence in 1966 when stationed at Catterick Camp, no points as of yet but plenty of time left to get some if the luck runs out, there were no speed cameras in the sixties, hav'nt slowed yet and have had a hell of a lot of near misses with the boys in blue but seems to work for me. PS under 300 quid fully comp means i want to keep the points off my ticket!!!!!!!!!
Suprasteve
i got a 7 day ban (SP60 whatever that is) but no points at all for doing 100 mph on the M25 in an XR2 in 1996. I argued with the copper with the rader gun that it must be faulty as theres no way a shitty 1.6L fiesta is capible of such speeds....didn't work
DaveRex
I have no points at all, but I do have a SP60 code from when I lost my licence for 28 days. I tried to get a SP60 code rather than points My insurance went down at renewal as well when offset against another years no claims

MrAngry
I have been lucky enough so far not to collect any, in my seventeen years of driving. Probably the kiss of death saying that
Jake
How long does it take for points to drop off? I got 3 18 months ago.IIRC points are valid for 3 years but you can't have them actually removed from your license until they are four years old. Drink driving is handled differently though. The endorsement for that stays on your license for 10 years PLUS the period of the ban.
GeordieSteve
How long does it take for points to drop off? I got 3 18 months ago. 5 year for most points, 11 for drink/drug driving/death through dangerous

It was the one where I was "caught" doing 48mph in a temporary 40 zone [usually 50mph], on a dual carriageway at 3:30am in the morning. and who says that cameras aren't there to capitalise again? michael parker
I got 3 pts sp60, last year for doing 62 in a temporary 50 at 7.30pm. it was dark, only me and another car on the road, no motorway maintenance people in sight, and a couple of sneaky coppers with no car, just a mobile mini gatso, sat on the hard shoulder, catching people as they go bye :thumbdown Bar stewards!!!
