Guest loughman
Hi Guys One of the pistons on my stock front offside brake caliper keeps sticking causing obvious binding of the wheel. I have popped out and cleaned the piston on several occasions. This alleviates the problem for a short period before it returns. Can this caliper be put right with further dismantling, cleaning etc or would another caliper be required and if so where would be the best place to go hunting for stock calipers. Thanks in advance
Scooter
Chris Wilson on here does stainless pistons, as you've popped yours in and out before, you could do this once more thoroughly cleaning in side the caliper itself, fit new rubber seals and boots and then it shouldn't happen again. Chris Wilson
The problem will probably be rust in the outer part of the caliper bore, as well as possible piston chrome degeneration. It will need a proper strip, bead blast and overhaul.
