Depending on your budget, hansgrohe make the best quality showers of that style, and Bristan make cheaper ones that are okay. Mira are a good compromise.

I'm just looking at the Grohe website now :)

My Bristan has been brilliant. Must be 15 years old now and still looks the part. Replaced the head a couple of years ago.

I'll have a look at those too

I'm on my builder.com and some plumbers say don't touch Aqualisa with a long stick

and some say their great

I'm on the 5th company now to quote the job, seems everyone in the building game is

on 100k plus a year going by the quotes i'm getting. And none of them tell me what they intend to fit.

Looking to change an old boiler with hot water tank and that's going the same way as well.

I sold them for years, generally speaking they were very good. Although they don't look like the one you want, the aqualisa aquavalve is the best performing mainstream shower valve you will find. Especially when combined with the turbosteam shower kit and a pumped gravity system.

Finally found a nice local guy who's not taking the P on how much to do the job :)

Decided to go with the Grohe Euphoria thermostatic shower which I can get for around £300

Also looking into getting an offset quadrant shower enclosure but the choice is huge.

I'm looking at this one unless someone can tell me there's a better one but without paying big money

Premier Apex Offset Quadrant Enclosure 1200mm x 900mm M1290Q-E8

I've read the Shower Lux brand are very good but around twice as much as the Apex

Showerlux are the best shower enclosure manufacturer, bar none, though I think they've taken to buying in some of their ranges from China now.

Possibly a situation similar to that of Bristan these days, whereby bathroom fixings (taps etc) come off the same production line as cheaper unbranded Chinese equivalents but the only difference being one has the brand stamped onto it and one doesn't.

Showerlux was always the top brand I'd offer when I used to be in plumbing sales too though.

This is the biggest problem using the internet as its impossible to tell what the quality is like, i'm seeing some

1200 x 900 offset quadrants with supposedly 50% off.

Same goes for the Grohe shower, I've found it on Amazon for £255 yet its £650 at Plumbcentre !!
