Fag burn, house carpet!HELP

Sh*t, pooh, bugger :Pling:

Just burnt a hole in the newish lounge carpet with me fag

It's 'only' about the size of a 1p coin but has melted the pile flat (not good  )

The carpet is only a year or so old and we don't really want to have it replaced even though it's covered by contents insurance, does anyone know of any firms that do repairs, can they be repaired?

Insurance excess is £75 so I'll only claim if they are replacing the lot if not I'll pay for any repair myself.

Thanks, Paul

try and find a firm near you that does smart repaires to cars , i used to do it a few years ago .

got the kit to repair fag burns in seats and carpets ,

Yeah, I looked in the Yellow pages and thought of that but surely it's a bit different, thicker carpet?

I've read up on people gluing fibres in but don't think that'll last, isn't there a way to punch out a circle and stitch or glue in a new circle of carpet?

How did you repair them?

No, not got a punch.

How does this work then, sharpened metal tube with something placed under carpet then smack it one? I've got offcuts of the carpet from when they fitted so new bit could come from these.

Don't really fancy smacking a hole in the middle of the carpet though, bit scary! How would this be fixed, glued?

Just cut a square out from under a unit or chair and glue it in :)

Helpfull as ever :D

Peter, I might have a play around with a bit of tube on the offcut, if it looks OK then I'll bite the bullet and only then go for the biggy :ecstatic:

If not then it's a new carpet job on the insurance.

Cheers for the tips anyway.
