Al Massey
Ken that's all good and well but nowadays the person you help up is the person that stabs you or sues you. Have you seen the rioting and refusal of food and water by these "refugees"? You bang on about UK weapon sales. I bet you think that's the government selling all those weapons and doing deals with shady people. And the people you want to blame is us, the UK when that is not the case. The fact is these regions have been unstable for decades and decades. They are third world countries in a poor state. Yet you think it's our fault because someone was sold weapons, or we invaded Iraq, went to Afghanistan. Helped freedom fighters. I find it funny, you commented on my post about the apparent Isis soldier and said he was a freedom fighter. Well that exact freedom fighter got weapons and aid from us. But in your mind we gave Isis the weapons and aid. You can't have it both ways

Hemanhead
So the british government sells weapons in the middle east and now Syria is "our" problem, "we" did it. No, I didnt do it, dont generalise, call out and hold those accountable, Cameron and the Eton brotherhood is a start. There are many things wrong in the world right now but the Syrian boy on the beach has the media attention. Nobody cares that THOUSANDS of children die in Africa everyday from starvation, war, poverty, disease. When will you save them all kendo, are they to be ignored for the moment, not this seasons must have trend. Stick to Syrians for now, its where all the facebook likes are at. Hemanhead
I missed nothing, I read your points and im calling you out on your generosity. Dont think theres anything wrong with that, but a house of Syrian men who abandoned their families for money is in vogue. Perhaps you and Geldoff can get together, make a song, a rap maybe about how the normal British citizens, how they havent done enough some more, that this is my fault. There are already thousands of homeless adults and missplaced children here in the UK, alot of whom are ex serviceman dealing with the trauma of war. Shouldnt they get help first? Hemanhead
No I miss didntanything, I read everything in this thread. And to me it seems nobody else's point can possibly be valid because you are from the far left, the horses are taller and whiter, I get it. You are a better human being than me and we all missed your points completely just as you would not understand mine. I know there are Abz, im merely pointing out you dont send a sick doctor to to operate on the sick. We cant even look after ourselves. And the reasons have already been discussed. j_jza80
Islamic State jihadists are using rape as a weapon to terrorise and destroy communities, Angelina Jolie has warned. "They are dictating it as policy... beyond what we have seen before," the UN special envoy told a House of Lords committee on sexual violence in war. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34190436 And still we stand at the sidelines, twiddling our thumbs and looking in every other direction. j_jza80
However unpalatable it may be to some, I'm afraid the only way this is going to get solved is with a full blown invasion. Now, I'm not suggesting this is something the UK does alone, a coalition of willing partners should be formed from around the world, and importantly featuring local nations with vested interests such as Iran. Isis should be slaughtered, and when they are done in Syria, they move on to Iraq and wherever else this blight on humanity can hide. The whole area should then be occupied by Peace Keeping forces organised by either the UN or a regional body. (Not the Arab league, who have proven to be utterly useless). But this has to be a long term commitment. At this point, I can't see how things could be made any worse.
Kendo11
I can't disagree with any of that. I just worry that it's not feasible.
j_jza80
I just worry that it's not feasible. I know what you mean, and after Bliars monumental clusterf**k, I completely understand why people would be against this. But this situation is very different. If we stand by and watch while the people of Syria and Iraq are murdered, raped and tortured like this, what does that make of us? And for those lucky ones who have escaped so far, there will be nothing of their homeland left soon. Isis have made it very clear that they are going to destroy anything they perceive to be blasphemous.

Hemanhead
If it makes you feel better to label me far left then that's absolutely fine, I don't subscribe to either side or view or angle. Nor do I claim to be a better human - you've just made that accusation based on something you've called me out on. I previously made no reference to anything I do charitably as quite frankly it's not the business of a car forum. You called me out, you got an answer. I got asked my opinions on what's wrong with the human race/modern society as a whole - not this specific topic. Well as I said theres little point debating with you on the subject as your opinion is what it is. With comments like, its not your land but a place you were born on is very left wing wouldnt you agree? Probably not. Yes I did call you out on it, because you called others out on theyre opinions towards, in what you describe (to me anyway) as a lack of humanity. If some people have the opinion that this is a trojan horse, a bunch of free loaders and dont want to see just an increase of "another 1%" come in nor do they see 800 million as insignificant during the current fiscal climate then they arent a wrong, its their opinion, and they pay for it everyday. You have been asked and have the answers for it all, you should probably run the country mate.

Hemanhead
Heh, you and I would probably go around in circles all night about this, and my post count would get far too high for my liking. Yeah sure people out there do shout a good volunteering session and not take part.I just think because they believe that there were others who were in that queue already and its getting jumped. We have a fractured society where a chasm of wealth is criminally disproportionate between the rich and poor, perhaps they would help more if they didnt have to work a dead end job 50 hours a week to meet those bills. These are just scenarios, I dont have the answer though, try asking them yourself? Anyway, good work on the supra, keep it up.

imi
The worry I have we dont really know who is comming in , realisticly this could all be isis plan and the they already have 25k trained torrorists ready to pose as refugees get into all the contries around europe and kill them from the inside out . abit like a modern day trogen horse . Didn't Isis say this a few months back that they would use the migrants as a way to infiltrate Europe with their fighters....

mellonman
Didn't Isis say this a few months back that they would use the migrants as a way to infiltrate Europe with their fighters.... Shut up!!! Did they ? ( i honistly thought i was my idea) But even that could be a double bluff if they have said it previous , making the euopean contries more didstant to help because of them saying that , Thus making it easier for them to brain wash there followers , by saying something on the lines of look at europe not helping the thounds of our people. ( but then again is it not Isis forcing them all out ? I really just dont get whats going on anymore ). The odd bit I dont get about the hole trojen horse idea is, why would the idiots from the uk and other place go to syria to fight when they could do more harm here unless they are no part of Isis at all , but just someone that has been washed but with no guidance or instruction from isis
