A country without borders is not a country.

Reports say the Hungarians are now quelling stone throwing migrants with water cannon and tear gas in Roszke. The Hungarians describe the migrants as "becoming aggressive". Large numbers of riot police and armoured vehicles moving in.

Has Boris shipped off his water cannon?

I am guessing the Iron gates dam border crossing across the Danube between Serbia and Romania will be their next route. Once into Romania at Gura Vai (A stunning part of the country) its only a 5 hour journey from there to the Hungarian frontier at Nadlac which is mainly a freight crossing and pretty open as far as border crossings go. I would think that would be the next place the fences will be going up. They will get a frosty reception from most of the Romanians in that area that's for sure.

The BBC concentrate on a few women who have seen taking their kids to the centre of the trouble as a good idea having their eyes washed, in their typical biased reporting style, whilst a more independent news feed shows a rather different picture:

Fancy them living in YOUR street??

Just these dog weary, shell shocked and pleading for sanctuary young lads having a bit of fun. And forewarning Europe what they are really like ;) I am sure they are all professional people on their way to boost Angela's flagging youth population and economy really, they are just badly portrayed.

I'm sure they'll quieten down come nightfall..... ;)

You only see the pictures the media want you to see. Reports of migrants stealing food from f

Doo good ers and kicking water onto train tracks.?? Wtf!!

The media are reporting those reports though aren't they? I think both sides get reported, perhaps it's not balanced but just like on here some will choose the soft/compassionate story some will go with they're trouble best off keeping where they are angle.

An interesting article on the bbc website:

While the tragedy of those fleeing Syria's terrible civil war has caught the popular imagination, such people formed just 20.1% of those seeking asylum in Germany from January to August 2015.

If you add together the Balkan arrivals (from Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, and Macedonia) they amount to twice that, 40.2%. The figures for those granted refuge are quite different because many of the applications from Balkan countries are rejected.

It's hard to avoid the conclusion that tens of thousands of people from relatively peaceful countries have joined the trek to Germany, which is seen as one of the most desirable places in Europe to live.

To put it more bluntly: they are taking advantage of and increasing this crisis. Statistics (attached report in German) compiled by the German authorities show that while the number of Syrians went up by 177% during the first nine months of 2015 (compared with the same period last year), the rise from Albania was 631%.

When the bbc do a 180 on their previous position that all these migrants are refugees, you know things are bad.

The BBC have gone from bad to simply appalling in their coverage, it's a national disgrace. The sooner this bent and biased institution is broken up the better. Who the hell is that slitty eyed, alopecia ridden bint so fond of finding cripples, kids and the elderly, and avoiding the brawling shouting detritus all around her, that the BBC are so fond of showing cooing to the masses amid the corn fields? The more I see of this farce, and the Corporations biased coverage of it, the more incensed I get. I always thought Hungary looked a nice place to live, and the feeling's growing. Their PM is definitely Statesman material.

I see Croatian trains haven't shown up to shift the mob that are demanding being taken FOC to Zagreb. I guess the Croatian people are having second thoughts about them, and who can blame them?

I spoke with a Serbian amateur radio operator earlier, he says locals are arming themselves and taking refugees back to the border if found roaming, they don't answer questions, just march `em on out of their country. So, you lot down in Kent, are you going to tool up and get down to that bloody tunnel ;) ? Seems those in the Balkans have always taken it upon themselves to sort things out their own way! I wonder how long it will be before the first shooting / murder is in the news?

I guess the arrival of cold weather will quell the numbers somewhat, but for now it's still hot down there.

That's the woman, yes. She's unbearable, I'd rather watch Big Brother than her.

You make me chuckle Chris. I spent 2 hours with her in Islamabad airport back in 2001. During that trip she also interviewed my then boss questioning hard on what the NGO we were both working for at the time was going to do about the looming refugee situation at the time building on the Afghan - Pakistan border. He came out of the interview a nervous wreck.... Oh and also she is only about 2 foot 6 in height, oh OK maybe 3 foot. But to see her on the screen you would never know that useful fact would you.

Eurostat, the EU's official independent statistics agency, claim 4 out of 5 of this lot are not Syrians, fleeing a war zone, but other nationalities, mainly economic migrants. Bravo, even the BBC are slowly starting to call them migrants and not asylum seekers. I am waiting for a true description from the BBC, that of ILLEGAL migrants! That may tax my patience though ;)
