A Few dash issues...

Hi guys,

Got a few queries that I'm hoping you can help with. My car came with after market clocks installed (they say SPI on them).

First problem - the master warning light (red triangle with exclamation) is constantly lit...no known problems with the car and none found by JM-Imports

Second - The fuel gauge only reads half full. I have removed the fuel pump and checked the float. It isn't bent, it's in great nick, moves freely etc. Gauge starts at 1/2 and drops to empty by 150 miles. Haven't had the fuel light on yet so unsure if it works. I wimped out last fill up. When I filled the car it took just shy of 60 litres...

Lastly - my boost gauge range is up to 1 bar. The car quickly and consistently hits the 1 bar limit of the gauge when boosting. I know this is above stock boost...how quickly should my boost gauge be building and what should it read?

Do you guys reckon that my gauges are just sh1t and badly wired, or what other causes could I have for these anomalies??

Cheers!!

Are you talking about the stock fuel gauge, or are you saying someone has added an after market gauge to read fuel level?

If stock gauge there's probably a voltage regulator somewhere on the instrument panel that's been blown, and the gauge is

not getting a correct reference voltage. just where it is I don't know.

Unless of course someone has had the needles off to fit some coloured or fancy background..... Getting the needles back

correctly is a rarity, and many people just knacker up a perfect instrument in the search to be different.

I have/had the exact same error with the Major Warning Light (red triangle with exclamation mark) being constantly light when the key is inserted and turned to live power but isn't cranked over. The light will stay on when the car starts. The light also stays on when turning off the car until you turn the key to 'OFF' position.

I found out it was the OEM option active front spoiler that was throwing up the error code. Mine was removed when the FMIC kit was installed and the ECU for the active front spoiler sits behind the stereo. Unplug this, the light should disappear.

That's what my error was anyway :)
