Great project Jamie.

What turbo do you have in mind?

 

I'll still be running the gen2 6266 mate untill I can get funds together to go 6speed then I'll be wanting to change the turbo. With the set up I'm doing I should be in the 700+ easy :)

Liking the wheels, very nice indeed.

 

Didn't realise you could get those sizes in those type of wheels, just assumed they would all be drag skinnies.

 

You have done a great job with developing the car, and the new look too.

 

Well done.

 

Neither did I untill I seen Bijal was selling a new set :)

Right on with the engine, I'm taking my time in an attempt to get this 100%

 

So up first was fitting the rear crack seal:

Next up was new core plugs:

Then fitting the front crack seal. I had a mate make me up this tool using a old damaged seal just for measurements. It's been made a few mm bigger than the size of the seal so it hits the face of the pump so the seal sits perfectly flush with the pump housing.

Next up new seals and fitting oil pump:

Then I cleaned up the sumps, using a wire wheel , scouring pad and carb cleaner before giving them slick of paint. Top part of the sump got some hamirite direct to metal silver and the bottom sump heat crinkle black:

Lee built the core mate. So re-bored to fit the larger 87mm Pistons. rods, bearings, arp bolts ,oil squirter delete, cleaned and decked.

The bottom end only had the crank, Pistons and rods and bearings Intalled.

So was just ready for me to put back together. (Basically lee done the most important stuff)

 

So no seals, core plugs, sumps, sensors etc. Just a bare block with Pistons and crank fitted. :)

Cleaned up the alternator the other day and starter motor and tonight just cleaned up the engine mounts and painted crinkle Matt black.
