Mk4Gaz
Hi all, I'm looking to replace my trans fluid soon, and have been looking around for the correct type iv, without toyotas hugely inflated mark up! I've found this, and it seems very well priced, and it seems to be the correct stuff. Thoughts? : http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=360854355330&alt=web
Swampy442
Only later JZs ran type 4, if your box hasnt got type 4 on the sump plug/dip stick or isn't already running it its a needless expense. But go to GSF and look for ATF-U, its the same spec as Toyota type 4 but much cheaper.
Benjy
I get quite a large discount at Toyota Gaz.
Mk4Gaz
I just saw 10 litres for circa £40, and thought it was a great price!

Dnk
I never have understood the info with autobox fluid. Aren't a lot of boxes failing now due to the sealed for life misconception ?

Dnk
This is in the FAQ section Automatic 4-speed A340E Capacity = 8.2L's (But you can only really change what's in the sump of it and that is ~2L's) Stock = Toyota Type-IV - 2L's for a quick change. Have 10L's ready for a full flush. Recommended Oil = Toyota Type-IV / Fuchs Titan 4400 / Motul ATF 1A Interval = 1 years / 15,000 miles per 2L quick change with heavy use. 2 years and 30,000miles if you're a light user. NB: You only need to do a full flush if something is wrong....it could actually be harmful to do too many full flushes due to the additives in the oil.
