skippyboyo1
100% there brilliant. we use them for off roading with quads and they have saved the day many times!!! as standard i know some car manufacturers opt for this insted of the space saver, Mazda being one. Chris Wilson
A while back manufacturers were supplying some high end cars with no spare wheel at all, and instead supplied a *BIG* aerosol of tyre mousse. I believe these were far more reliable than the small aerosols. I have had customers find the small accessory shop ones had low or even no charge when called upon in an emergency. Certainly not enough puff to seal and inflate adequately. Whether you can still buy the OE ones I don't know, however. You can't beat a proper sized spare though You'll just have to leave a couple of suitcases of cash behind and make space!

No room in the Beema for full sized spares, its got a space saver which will do but I was just thinking if its chucking it down or im on an autoroute a tin of this stuff would save a lot of hassel having to change the wheel
cered
Got one of these in the Alfa along with an electric pump. Keep it in 24/7, however if i'm going for a long drive, e.g. from Wales to Scotland I bought a space saver kit with jack and keep that instead. I feel that the tyre mousse stuff is good for short journeys where you wouldn't lose a day with a flat tyre or a blowout, but for longer trips I'd prefer the convenience of a space saver, e.g. if the tyres in bits on the A123456 in Carlisle I can just put a space saver on instead of worrying about the AA
downimpact
My reading on these is, useless in a motorway blowout situation. Also they make a lot of mess when the tyres come to be replaced so some may charge extra to fit new tyres. I have a can of this but never used in one car. Dnk
Yep i'm only looking to cover a puncture, if a tyre blows out its usually got a large piece missing so if that occurred I've got the space saver.
Hitbox Junkie
There o good for blow ours but you have space saver for that. These are great for small puncher till you can get to garage and change it. Along with a electric pump will do justice if it's ever needed no harm in having it. Sods law if you don't have it your need it
Al Massey
I have actually used one of the supra after the 21st anniversary meet. Pulled up on side of the M1, jacked the wheel off the ground, used a can. Drove to a service station, only needed 10 more psi. Then drove home. And drove around for 2 days afterwards till my tyre was delivered. Brilliant stuff in an emergency. Got mine from Halfords, was buy one get one free at the time
jim
I may be wrong, but I thought that if you used this if you had a puncture, then it's no longer possible to do a puncture repair on the tyre and you'd have to replace it rather than repair it? Dnk
The RAC sells a tyre sealer that has been tested at Mira which I think i'll buy. Found it while searching today. The tyre can still be repaired after using it according to the info http://www.racshop.co.uk/breakdown-emergency/tyre-foam/product/rac-tyre-sealant.html

Mk4Gaz
you would do a puncture repair on a supra? balls to that So if you bought a brand new tyre, and got a nail stuck in it, you'd replace the tyre? If it's a track car, that's being pushed to its limit, then fair enough, but for a road car, a repair is perfectly fine. Just because it's a supra, doesn't make it different from any other car on the road
