Differential

So my differential was rebuilt, due to what I believe was a bearing went, it has the 8 year old carbonetic diff still

Initial preload was. Set to 400nm but she was whiny and I got a vibration over 100km/hr

The preload is set to 485nm , intermittent whiny at slow speeds and primarily on de-acceleration

Took her for a good few km last night, fast road, was up at 180km on the way back, seems quiet and smooth at high speed , the intermittent whiny is still there though

Today or the more mileage I put on her the more she seems to want to lock the diff at low speeds, on. Slow 10km tight left tonight , she starred to judder , not violent like a welded diff but you could feel it like you let the clutch up too quick

Oil in her is elf 75w140 , there is enough in her, plus on the last oil change after literally 200-400km with motul pa90, oil was black and still had metal flakes on the sump nut, it was always like this for the last 8 years though but just less this time , maybe a carbonetic thing?

I don't know, any advice?

Both Chris Wilson and me have already answered this in another of your threads and informed you that the pre-load is incorrect which is destroying your diff.

How is it incorrect? it has a max torque of 510nm, in comparison to an OEM diff the preload feels correct

Not ruling out the diff Toyota parts but I am thinking the Carbonetic Diff itself may be gone? But dont want to buy an OsGiken, and still have issues

Just wondering why maybe the best way to test, worth checking the runout of the DRIVE PINION SHAFT

Might see how it goes and sent it to Chris , if anything happens to it ;)
