j_jza80
While wetrooms look great, and are generally nicer to use than shower enclosures, they do have one serious flaw. If you end up with a leak or a blockage, and don't have access from elsewhere, the bill will be extremely expensive. Not only in labour, but generally in new tiles too, as tile manufacturers don't sell their ranges in perpetuity, and even the if you can find them, it is likely the batch differences will make new tiles stand out too much. When I say 'if', I really mean 'when'. It may be 20 years, or it may be 3 years.

When I say 'if', I really mean 'when'. It may be 20 years, or it may be 3 years. Its going to be a shower room with a stone tray now and side screen rather than a full on wet room to help reduce the risk of leaks. I always buy extra tiles in case any future problems occur. Getting someone to start the job or even quote it remotely sensibly is beginning to become the hard part.
Dnk
Looking at doing something like this with a 1600 x 900 tray that will be the full width of the room
j_jza80
That's a good compromise and so long as you have floorboards underneath, and put the showertray waste at the front, access to the plumbing underneath should be possible. If you've found a product that you like, why not phone the manufacturer and find out who their local dealer/s is/are? The dealers should have a list of recommended installers. If you had been in the York area, I could have given you a list as long as the Magna Carta
Dnk
Afraid the quotes im getting for the work involved I think are way to high or I've just not been that impressed with who turned up to look at the job. I've had 2 over £5k plus materials which I think is a tad over the top as I doubt there's 5 days work involved We have floorboards
Kaan W
I do the flooring side of wetrooms, basically a tiled room with all the plumbing and a plug hole in the floor. Charge £400 for the floor and can't imagine the rest will cost that much. £2k tops.
