Lee P
What do you mean a lock up switch? So you can lock the TC while cruising to drop the rpm down

David P
Take a look at the video about hi stall torque converters that I've just posted in the transmission group, it explains that your t.c. will be slipping up to around 3,600 rpm which means that it will be slipping almost all of the time with road driving and will generate lots of heat. Several U.K. Engine Tuners claim that with an AEM ECU, the torque converter never completely locks up and they like to fit a lock up switch to use for motorway driving and dyno runs. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=182&do=discuss Edited August 24, 2015 by David P (see edit history)
TT Paul
would you use the lock up switch for say around town or just m/way ?? pulling away ?? just want to make sure i use switch in the right place
David P
How many times do I need to write; "a lock up switch to use for motorway driving and dyno runs" only. If you have stock cams, the best torque-converter is the stock torque-converter. If it's a road car, the best torque converter is a stock torque-converter. Chris Bailey
We have a 3600 torque converter, and are changing back to stock torque converter. Just for a more smoother power delivery.
