merckx
http://www.max-boost.co.uk/max-boost/resources/SUPRA_MKIV/Timing_Belt_Removal.pdf Use a long breaker bar to get more leverage or Like bignum said, some have used the starter motor to turn over the engine and therefore rotating the crankshaft to loosen the bolt. The wrench will have to be fixed so it won't rotate, only worth doing it this way if you're confident that you won't break anything. You don't want to start the engine so you'll have to prevent this by disconnecting the ignition pack or removing a fuse.
paul mac
there was a guy on the board who did a rental on the gear you need, dont know if he's still about, do a search
eyefi
a 6ft bar did it on mine, in gear with the hand brake on, wheels on the floor. do you have to take the crank pulley off to do the cams and gears, can't you just remove the belt tensioner? neo1
The bolt is a sod, i used the starter motor trick in the end and then the pulley tool to torque the new bolt back up.

mrboost
well huge thank you again. I had been told that the engine would have to come out as the crank bolt was too tight, tried it myself and heh it came off no problem....Did a few extra things like cam gears camshaft etc...But all in all less than 4 hours all done (with help from a close friend who is a mechanic). Winner thanks guys & girls http://www.shef.ac.uk/misc/personal/mdb/test/pic1.jpghttp://www.shef.ac.uk/misc/personal/mdb/test/pic4.jpghttp://www.shef.ac.uk/misc/personal/mdb/test/pic10.jpg http://www.shef.ac.uk/misc/personal/mdb/test/pic25.jpghttp://www.shef.ac.uk/misc/personal/mdb/test/pic16.jpg
