supra_24
Hi guys, Just a quick one regarding the supras coolant and power steering fluid levels. Just trying to figure out when looking in the rad at the coolant, where should it come up to? Mine is currently just about at the level of the main pipe feed at the top of the rad. Should it be above this level or is that correct? And regarding power steering fluid am I correct in saying that this should be above the the top feed? I have braided lines going from the tank. Reason I ask is that I have fluid on my metal undertray. Its red in colour. I know my power steering pump line is leaking slightly just below the braided line. Because there Is quite a bit of liquid wasn't sure whether it was maybe coolant. I've checked the levels tonight and the coolant level is just inline with the top pipe feed and the power steering tank fluid is just above the top feed. Any help on this would be appreciated. bignum
Rad is normally filled right to the top, any excess goes into the overflow bottle, There are markers on the power steering res cap showing hot/cold levels.
Swampy442
Yeah, that. Why have you got a braided line going from the tank?
supra_24
Yeah mines defo not right to the top. Its just about in line with the main hose that comes off the top of the rad. - - - Updated - - - I've got an aftermarket power steering tank with braided lines coming off of it. Scooter
I think re the power steering the top pipe is the return not feed and so the level as per the caps stick is lower than this. As Bignum said the rad should be full, where does your little pipe off the rad go? follow it to the overflow tank and see what amount of coolant is in that. If it's low fill the rad and fill the overflow to the max and monitor it.
