drift_bear Posted July 30, 2015 Share Posted July 30, 2015 As some of you know I recently purchased a GTR to slightly build and replace the supra, well today was the day that I dropped it off to the garage to get the work done. An hour later I get a phone call with the following news "The engine has signs of prolonged det on pistons and plugs. Chamber/piston number 5 is definitely damaged, has 40% leak down and is 2 bar lower compression than the highest, 9.5 vs 11.5 bar compression test" I'm not expecting sympathy from you guys, just wanted to vent! I'm absolutely raging that the previous owner removed a lot of performance parts prior to selling to the garage, and never had a concern on how it would effect the car after! drift_bear Posted July 30, 2015 Author Share Posted July 30, 2015 It's not worth my time and money to fix it tbh, there's still the struts need seeing to before it gets bad and the underside needs a good clean up aswell. My classic scooby I bought (was an itch to scratch) had an apexiFC and got the map on that check - massively underfueling all over the rev range. Was ready to go bang but luckily no damage.
